I agree with you totally, the challengers to Dublin are just not up to it. As you say the brilliant efforts of Mayo over the past few years have papered over the cracks. There are some emergjng teams like Tyrone and Galway but not sure they can compete with Dublin over the next few years.

Replying To Crowcrag:  "Isnt that the point? Provincial winners get automatic qualification for Super 8's, thered be no incentive otherwise other than a trophy..
The question is though, using Donegal as an example, they fell apart v Tyrone in the last 10 min of round 3 QFs, is Winning provincial and having a break and not playing so many game a benefit or a hindrance as far as match fitness goes?

Eventually, the provincials will be tweaked or disbanded, after all, "purists" might say that Ulster football is boring, but its the only competitive provincial that we have..."
Is champs 'break or playing' better ?
- I address this imbalance by curtailing Quals and extending Front Door stream both by one round.

- Right now, after 8 teams are eliminated in the 1st rd Quals - Prov Finals 8 are played in parallel with 2nd Rd Qual 16.
- I have the Prov Champs Playoff Rd 4 in parallel with 2nd Qual Rd 20 (latter incl. 4 Prov Final losers and top 2 from each 8 1st Rd groups of 3).

- From the Prov SF 16 or the 1st Qual Rd 24 (incl 8 SF losers), all 32 counties need to successfully advance from precisely 6 rds to claim Sam - via Front Door, Back Door or any combo of the two !

- No need to get rid of Provs - keep the tradition and imbalance - I neutralise the latter.
