Am I Missing Something?

God the moaning and whinging is as stale, boring and as bland as the football on display. Well crammy people into dumps is not going to promote the games thats for sure. I believe most people moaning about lack of atmospere are saying so after watching the games from their couches. Being there, you simply cant beat it, moving the grounds closer to the counties whose fans dont travel is pointless. If you do have to moan come up with a solution that, increases the number of fans, makes games more exciting. Kilkenny vs Limerick today Semple was half empty, did that diminish the quality of the game? NO. Do fans go to grounds and start counting the number of spectators? NO. Maybe if the standard if football was better we wouldnt notice the number of empy sests.

Replying To Whammo86:  "100% the atmosphere yesterday was very poor.

I can't see there being much of a turnout for the Roscommon Dublin game. It's going to be an absolute waste of Croker.

I think they need to fit rid of the home, away, Croke Park idea. All games neutral venue and play them in the ground that makes the most sense for the game in question."
Couldn't agree more. Fans from both Galway and Kerry were looking at a 3-5 hour trip each way, for a late game on a work night, so they'd be getting home at midnight. That's a very long day for kids too. No consideration for fans at all. Also agree about a longer interval between games; all well and good for the students on the panel who have all week to recover, but for the lads also trying to hold down a job, it's a huge ask.

Difficult to listen to local radio in counties that you aren't local to. I agree with Richie, not many counties are complaining that they don't get to play in Croke Park that often. If anything since 2001 a county's trip to Croke Park has been devalued. Unless Dublin are involved for a home game, and then not for all their games, Croke Park should only be for League finals and All Ireland semis and finals. The GAA will say Croke Park is used more to generate more revenue. I don't think that's true. They make plenty of money from concerts and other events. They don't try and get bigger crowds in for non-Dublin games so revenue can't be that much of a concern to them. Have more games outside of Croke Park with more atmosphere and spreads the cash around the local businesses around match day.
