time to get a thread on this going.
hard game to call, both sides have a lot of improving to do on their last outings.
whichever team turns up on the day will win it as not much between the 2 sides.
davy will know the clare team inside out which is an advantage.

50 50 game our 9/4 odds with the bookies are ridiculous, conlon and liam Ryan the key battle

I feel that this is a 50/50 game; will be a tough affair. Can see Clare coming out on top by a narrow margin at the end of it.

I'd start Rory O Connor in full forward, David mcinerney struggled on Pat Horgan in the Munster final and Rory's pace and low centre of gravity might work. It would also free up Conor Mac to start wing forward on Jamie Shanahan who won't destroy him for pace. Conor MAC has the ability to clean any back who does not severely out pace him.

Negating Tony Kelly is a big fear of mine as I feel there is a back lash coming from him. Might try Kevin foley on him but I'd be very fearful if he started centre forward on o Hanlon as it is a sever mismatch.

Finally I hope Jippo cleans out Conlon and gets the recognition he deserves nationally. To date he has stopped Walter Walsh and Johnny Glynn in champo and harnedy, Conor Cooney, Shane Bennett and Conlon in the league. He is brilliant in my opinion and doesn't get recognition due to sweeper system!

Wexford by 4 if they stop Clare playing a free flowing game!

well the bookies are very rarely wrong they view us as the weakest team left with odds of 28 to 1 to win the all ireland clare are 7 to 1 . for what its worth i do think we can win saturday but all 15 players starting must play to a level they have not showen yet this season . we can afford to carry any passagers in the game

Wexford have performed poorly in recent quarter finals. Clare will be desperate to undo the dreadful stat that reads zero Croke Park appearances since their wonderful win back in 2013.

I go with the bookies

Honestly, I'd be shocked if Clare did not win this. I think the bookies have it spot on. Haven't seen anything from Wexford this year to suggest they'll beat Clare. Clare just need to focus on the brilliant first half they had against Cork and bring it for the 70 minutes. Clare by 5

My opinion is the bookies have got this one wrong.

Wouldn't be one bit shocked. Wexford are completely underrated. Wexford have probably the best set of backs in Championship bar Galway and should've beat KK out the gate in Nowlan park only for fatigue to set in. Match ups suit wexford to a tee - O'Keefe on Reidy, Reck on O'Donnell, Firman on Collins, Ryan on Conlon, Foley on Duggan.
Wexford will flood the middle on Sat to negate Kelly and Galvins influence with a plan of breaking through the Clare half back line with pacy runners. Shanahan, Cleary, O'connor and Browne are not fast and cannot cope with being ran at by the likes of Chin, Kevin Foley, Aidan Nolan, McGovern or Dunne/O'Connor. This will be the Wexford game plan, off the shoulder runners taking on their men every time. Rory O Connor or David Dunne will be on David Mcinerney inside to keep him honest and win break off Conor Mac.

my prediction is 2 points to decide it either way in front of a disappointingly small crowd.

Crazy odds alright. Ive a few quid on a Leinster double. Clare have impressed me in patches this year but not enough to give me confidence that they will come close to an All Ireland.
Neither have Wexford but I think it'll come down to sheer hard work and I think Wexford will come out on top for that reason alone. Clare's forwards have scored well this year but if they continue to play O'Donnell over McGrath it'll be madness in my opinion. Why leave one of the best forwards in the country on the bench and play a forward who wins very little ball and refuses to shoot?
Both sets of forwards go through periods in games where they don't use the ball well and hit aimless shots from distance. Whoever limits that on Saturday may win. Clare do have the slight advantage of having an excellent free taker in Duggan though
Wexford by 4 points for me.

In fairness to you, the reason you haven't seen much of Wexford is because Wexford hasn't been covered by rte. The matches have either been on sky or just highlights. Wexford are below the radar for now.

Yes Wexford's form is patchy. However, if we Wexford folk were looking for positives, I would point to the fact that we have beaten Galway this year, ran Kilkenny to a point in Kilkenny on Week 4 of a set of 4 games in a row and we have beaten Clare already this year.

Yet the bookies have Clare at odds on 2/5 and the bookies are rarely wrong.

It'll be tight but I think Wexford will win by 1 or 2.

Wexford need to win to show progress a defeat here leaves that last 12 months work static and a failure IMO.
Clare are similar two Munster Final defeats in a row and limped out tamely against Tipp last year.
Think PUC will suit Clare's style and I expect them to win by 5 or 6 points.

Maybe the GAA will now listen to the fans and not pick ridiculous venues.

Wexford often look good on paper but they always seem to be just below the top teams.
