Clare v Wexford in Cork makes no sense

Maybe Cork should have built the new stadium in somewhere like Mallow or Fermoy that might be easier to get in and out of and easier to get to from North Munster/ South Leinster.

i have no problem with cork building a stadium,it is a huge county.i have a problem with expecting people to spend 3-4 hours getting to a match (and if you drove from gorey that is the least youd be spending,before you account for the walk to the ground) just to justify their swanky new white elephant.

Still moaning on here about venues!! If we spend fortunes on them the first thing we do is demand to not use them. Seems everyone in the country wants their games played in the nearest field (to get an advantage like!).

as i have repeatedly said,it is grand until me fein is discommoded.
imagine if dublin were to play clare in cork or killarney.repeatedly.how long before the squawking would start?

Playing at home has clear advantages as has been proven countless times and you should know considering how irregular it is for Dublin to play any championship games outside of Dublin

The moaning will continue as long as people try to justify the decision to hold the Clare/Wexford game in Cork.

By your logic, a new swanky 45K seater stadium on the Aran Islands should get big matches and supporters should put up!

Ya! that seems to be the logic. Walsh Park could have accommodated the Clare v Wexford game with a bit to spare. Hang on though, Waterford could not host their home games because Walsh Park could not hold 19,000 without a safety issue. Less than 10,000 were at their game in Limerick. What ever way you slice it or dice it there are some beauties running the GAA. It is not always about pleasing everyone but of treating them equally and fair, fans and teams. GAA come up short on this too often. Before someone says the grass roots send them up there. However when they get there they clone together and do as they please.
