Understand your frustration Ros supporter...we will be in the semis no bother...unlike your own team......can only beat what's in front of you ...much better game than Kerry v Galway!

I watched both games, and those of you thinking this was less intense than the second game are basing it on nothing. If anything there was more intentional attacking and better defending in Monaghan Kildare game. Kerry were extremely negative. I disagree that Monaghan were better than us, apart from composure, which I suppose contradicts that. We were the better team in the second half and Monaghan were lucky to take it in my opinion. Dubs will be happy to see 4 average teams play today. Kerry were so disappointing

Very funny, next time ye do it make sure the handicap is covered first, OK.

As plenty thought on here, a couple of points in it either way and it could have been us if we actually took a chance and took a shot on a couple of times when the opportunity was there. Hit the post twice and Beggan made a good save from Flynn. On the whole Monaghan were probably slightly more clinical and hadn't to work as hard to score. Had the best player on the pitch too in the wing back, serious player. McManus clipped over a nice one to seal it at the end. Great position for Monaghan now playing a rattled Kerry team at home next week. On a separate point, why the hell couldn't one team have been left to play in white?! Looked too much of a colour clash when both changed. Anyway on to a buzzing Galway game next week. Well done today Monaghan.

Couldn't agree more about the Jersey clash. I understand usually both teams change to their away kit, but surely in this case they should just flip a coin to see who stays in their home kit.

But that would take brains which seem to be in short supply in GAA officialdom. The thing about common sense is it's not very common.

Great to have the 2 points. It was definitely the better of the 2 games today. Although it was tight at times, have to say I never doubted that we would win - the team looked very composed throughout.
Although Croke Park suited Monaghan better, I think that it was dismal looking around at so many empty seats.

One last comment on this game. Where was our national anthem ? Very disappointed that it wasn't played - did it not suit the sky coverage?

Good effort from Kildare but Monaghan didn't live up to what I expected from them, still open in this group!

Got to say , the jersey thing was confusing for a viewer, so surely in heat of battle and a quick glance it would have been for players too?

Very frustrating game to watch as a kildare man. with Monaghan swarming the 21 yard line i would of been either kicking from range or lobbing it in on top of flynn and let the bear in the square fight for ball. It was our only hope against a very defensive monaghan. Kildare are in a do or die game next weekend in st conleths and we need to go hell for leather from the start to beat Galway.

Job done. It was not a classic performance of ours and again (like the Laois game) we were poor enough in the second half. If Kildare had a bit more experience/class in the forward line they would have beat Monaghan yesterday. As it was, I never really thought they were going to beat us after the first few minutes. It always seemed like we were able to do enough.

Refereeing was a joke again. A lot of niggly frees given and he was oblivious to some of the dire stuff off the ball by both teams.

I think we frustrated ourselves to be honest. We had a few chances to shoot late on but didn't take a chance and go for it. Became too lateral too. Nobody looking to run and break the cover like we have been doing. Ref left a lot to be desired but you always felt we were chasing the game. Fair play to Monaghan.
