Think this game will be very close. I have a sneaking feeling that Laois can pull off a surprise win. I know Laois are the third division 4 team in a row for the farney boys but they did advance to div 3. and will prove a handful. Crossgaa (Mayo) - Posts: 553 - 05/07/2018 18:14:33 2118889 Link 0 |
absolutely no chance of a laois win..monaghan will win this by 9-10 points...on what basis can people claim that laois could cause an upset?...their performance against dublin? mayotyroneman (Tyrone) - Posts: 1821 - 05/07/2018 18:56:58 2118902 Link 0 |
Laois had a hard game against Dublin? They played for 20 minutes and threw in the towel. They won't get near Monaghan and Drew Wylie won't give Donie Kingston a sniff.

Laois have done but I think that Monaghan will have too much for them. neverright (Roscommon) - Posts: 1648 - 05/07/2018 20:04:58 2118923 Link 0 |
Monaghan should win this without much bother and that is no reflection on Laois. If we are to be in a position to challenge for the major prize it's now or never and we are a division 1 team. border Gael (Monaghan) - Posts: 894 - 05/07/2018 21:52:25 2118952 Link 1 |
No, I said hopefully we will win, not looking beyond the next match. Glad to see you are making the trip to Navan to support us. Very neighbourly.

Thank you- sure we have to look elsewhere for championship football in July! In fairness, Laois are no bad team have the type of forwards that trouble Monaghan. They are a Div3 team in reality, and if they were playing your conquerers Fermanagh this weekend it would be called as 50:50. This may not be as clear cut as most people think. So yeah, worth a look! A Div 3 team against a Div 1 team should still be very straightforward though. We must give Laois their due respect and take nothing for granted, but this would be a shock and a huge blow for Monaghan if we don't proceed. If we're losing sleep over the Laois fowards hurting us then we have no business playing against Kerry or Galway. patk (Monaghan) - Posts: 936 - 06/07/2018 11:57:04 2119090 Link 0 |
Did Monaghan folks loose any sleep over Fermanagh forwards or defense. A good defense can also beat Monaghan.

Laois don't play the same defensive system as Fermanagh though

In fairness you are over egging this thing that Laois have no chance. Monaghan a good side yes but have fallen to 'so called' inferior opposition previously. I.e Longford, Down, Fermanagh etc. They have form in this regard. Of course Laois have a chance.
