Replying To hurlinglad15:  "Kildalkey v Trim. Trim won't have the freedom of navan like Killyon gave them. They have big names back and won't fear kildalkey. Long time since Kildalkey last played a championship game and could take a while to settle into it. If Trim can get a big start who knows. I'll still go with kildalkey by 5.

Rathoath v kiltale. Like the football forum here. Rathoath been talked up and set up for a big fall. Kiltale are hitting serious form now and will win this by 7 points plus and win the final at a canter. The two losses early in the year have just gave kiltale the kick they needed to get hunger going again. As for rathoath 2 or 3 top class hurlers but struggle in other areas of the field and kiltale will exploit them."
Most people are predicting Kiltale to win so not sure how that's "talking them up".

Also, can you please spell the name correctly at the very least?

The hatred of Ratoath seems to have spread over to the hurling side as well. All I have heard is people talking up Kiltale and that Ratoath are to young, and are only a two man team etc. Ratoath are there on merit and I think it is a 50/50 game that Ratoath might just come out on top in as they are a battling team who will give Kiltale there fill of it for sixty plus minutes.

I agree and I reckon that the Kiltale Ratoath game will go down to the wire. Kiltale are proven but I am not sure if they still have the hunger. A draw is a distinct possibility or a couple of points either way.

Kildalkey Trim, Kildalkey rightly favorites but will need to be on their game to win this. Kildalkey by 1 - 3 points.

Saturday 22nd Sept

SHC semi-final Kildalkey v Trim Saturday 22/9/18 17.15pm Pairc Tailteann - Kildalkey with a win. Trim wont make it easy for them and will be a challenge for at least 40mins but Kilkdalkey will push on.

IHC semi-final
Na Fianna v Wolfe Tones Saturday 22/9/18 15.30pm Pairc Tailteann - Wolfe Tones will come out on top with 4point win

JHC semi-final Ratoath v Killyon Saturday 22/9/18 14.00pm Drumree - Ratoath will win a good Junior group there will battle by Killyon by 3pts

Sunday 23rd Sept

SHC semi-final - Kiltale v Ratoath Sunday 23/9/18 15.30pm Pairc Tailteann - Ratoath will bet Kiltale in fulltime by 2points. Kiltale have all the experience but the hunger isn't strong enough to carry them over the line. Ratoath gone out of the football will not want to leave 2018 without silverware and this is it.

IHC semi-final - Clann na nGael v Gaeil Colmcille Sunday 23/9/18 13.45pm Pairc Tailteann - this is hard one to call but I will go with Gaeil Colmcille for just there determination it will be the closes of all the matches at the weekend could go to extra time but still it will be the Gaeil that will win.

JHC semi-final
St Peters Dunboyne v Trim Sunday 23/9/18 11.30am Drumree - Dunboyne by 6pts

Conor Ferguson has today's match, won't be many frees, loved letting the game go.
Marcus Quinn tomorrow

Two good referee's. They should make the two games flow freely while having control. Nothing worse than whistle happy referee who ruin a hurling game between teams who want to play, seen it too many times this year.

Thank God it won't be a free taking competition with the refs appointed. Nothing worse than a ref who wants to be centre of attention and there is a few of them. Ferguson will allow it develop with little frees. Quinn like wise will allow it to develop but won't allow as much as Ferguson. 2 good choices in my opinion.

Some result for Trim just shows the hunger is what pushes a team on. They wanted it more and it showed. Have to give it to Damien McGee also shows if you have the head and skill that is all that matters. Ref did a good job as there was some pulling but it was on both sides. Good to see Trim supporters today because they were not around all year.

Kiltale may look out tomorrow we could be in for another change of the guard.

Trim much more the hungrier team and fully deserving of the win. Alan Douglas and James Toher led the way but the defence stood up when Kildalkey looked to comeback in the second half.

However, Kildalkey also just didnt turn up bar a small period before half time. I thought that they would be happier at half time as Trim had dominated most of the first half but they went in just two ahead. Heffernan made a big difference in the second half and held the ball anytime it went up.

Surprisingly Kildalkey didnt kick on in the second half and missed a few frees which was were also crucial as was the Trim goal.

Trim will probably be underdogs against the winners of todays semi but will put it up to either team in the final.

Trim were excellent and fully deserved their win. Hunger and skill all over the field that Kildalkey couldn't live with. Kildalkey were so poor and did nothing to get back into game despite a quality bench, hard to understand!!! Toher, McGee and Douglas allowed freedom of Pairc Tailteann without any change of markers. Trim always in control of game and will put it up to anyone in final.

No disputing the result in Navan today Kiltale were far superior to a disappointing Ratoath side who never seemed to get going at all for some reason, Kiltale got off to a flyer and maintained a consistency in their performance throughout the game, Ratoath only threatened once or twice to get into the game but Kiltale always found the scores to snuff out that threat. Ratoath didn't do themselves any favours at times with their pick outs and Kiltale were given far too much room at times, Ratoath players seemed to be doing a lot of slipping and their first touch was off on a good few occasions and overall they didn't have the intensity that Kiltale had but they are young and still progressing and will have learnt plenty from this years championship during which they played some great hurling and had great results just today it never got going, credit to Kiltale though they seem to have found their mojo at the right time.

Kiltale were very good today, just too much talent all over the field. Trim will have to play exceptionally well to match them. Well done to Ratoath on a great year.

Looks like another championship for Kiltale. Very hard to imagine Trim being able to curb their scoring power and I have the feeling that they used the extra qualifying spot in the A Group brilliantly, they could take it easy early on and peak at the right time.

Kildalkey I think made Trim look super and they may well be but their overall scoring record does not match Kiltale's.

I think Trim will give Kiltale a closer run this time around. I would suspect they would have revenge on their minds after 2014. Trim simply did not show up that day and Kiltale killed them with the quick puckouts and trim gave them numerous frees in their own half which resulted in a hammering.

I don't think Kiltale planned to come through the last spot and they were lucky they did clinch it. More to the point I think a few of their players returning after being away for a few week over the summer has helped their cause greatly. It could be argured that Trim have peaked at the right time with alan douglas looking to be on fire in the last few games. I would imagine that kiltale will have to mark a few of the trim forwards tighter both kilyon and Kildalky as on their day they are as good as kiltale in that department.

well well well
i did not see that trim result last week!
kildalkey were terrible, what went wrong? did they think they just have to show up
strange team line up
i think the entire county were delighted because of their off field antics this year

Trim were good and fair play to them
ref was top class - the rest could learn alot from him

Thought Ferguson was exceptional, players rather the game be let flow and hard challenges , who will get county final?

I can't wait for this final, Trim having nothing to lose as overall it's an exceptional year, will Kiltale hunger be there?
