While most fans accept a transition was necessary after the 2014 All Ireland final, not all agree with how that transition was handled by RG. For what it's worth I think Donegal will won on Sunday, even though I would love to see Fermanagh won, even Donegal supporters would admit they would be supporting Fermanagh if they were playing anyone else. Lot of what ifs and whatabouts on this thread This is the easiest game this year to analyse If anyone should know that RG is a one trick pony it's Donegal people we had 3 years of trying to defend a 1 point lead and then losing Fermanagh squeezed past Monaghan 1) they had a dream start 2) McManus misfired badly 3) Monaghan did what Monaghan do they follow a massive win( Tyrone) with a damp squib as they have done for the past 5 years 4) even with all that it took a last minute goal 5) a bad Monaghan performance should still have beaten a firing on all cylinders Fermanagh The only scenario where Fermanagh win this is 2-3 early first half goals otherwise this is gong to be Turkey shoot. Donegal have too much pace and firepower and can score at will from distance. Once Donegal go 3.up Fermanagh have no plan B and Donegal will rip them asunder. It really feels like Christmas eve at the minute. I haven't been this nervous about a game in years. The cock sureness of the Donegal posters reminds me of the monaghan fans going into the previous game. The fermanagh players have a certain steel about them this year too. Very focussed and mind set on the job at hand. I'm gonna go make a bold statement and say Fermanagh are going to win this by 3 points. Jesus christ I pray and hope i'm right. If we win i'm either vanishing from this site for a few days or doing a couple of random drunk posts. Hope the optimistic and over confident Donegal supporters doesnt back fire on us! Can't call the game as we played no one yet and id worry that Rory Gallagher has a plan up his sleeve as he knows us inside out. How are young players play is the key and the intensity levels will be severe in comparison to the previous games. It's not actually breaking Fermanagh down that worries me, it's the possibility of Fermanagh getting joy attacking us, is the real worry. Good luck to Fermanagh but their story maybe hides the turnarounds in Donegal fortunes. I thought after Tyrone beat Donegal two years running it was the end of the road for them. However they have come back this year playing better football and their range of scorers suggests they should be able to beat the blanket. Donegal by 6 points. I didn't expect Fermanagh to beat Monaghan at all a few weeks back and it happened so anything is possible. I do think Donegal will have too much on the day but looking forward to watching it in the Clonliffe before heading to Croker. Hopefully we'll be welcoming Fermanagh back to Croker in two weeks time. I wish it was us there today, and Fermanagh sickened my hole a few weeks ago, but I really hope they can pull it off today. These days don't come around too often for a county like Fermanagh and it would be great to see them break their duck. Logic would say that it's pretty unlikely Fermanagh would beat Monaghan and Donegal back to back, and Donegal now have plenty of warning about Fermanagh's game plan today in case there was a danger of complacency. Donegal were very impressive - they completely crowded out the midfield, negating Fermanagh's main strength the fielding ability of Jones and Donnelly. Ban Gallagher is a brilliant player and caused havoc down the right. Disappointing from Fermanagh and it will be difficult for Rory to pick them up after this. I thought the ref was very harsh on Ryan Jones - his tackle (for the second yellow) was deflected up off the arm by the movement of the Donegal player.
