Replying To PeggyShippen:  "Waterford or Tipperary even with their below performances this year would beat Wexford if they met. Wexford have reached a plateau. These Wexford guys are talented but they aren't at the same level of talent as Munster teams. Let's take the Under 21. Wexford won 3 in a row in Leinster and were tanked every year in the All Ireland under 21 series."
Cork tried to get support for an All-Ireland stage Super 8 in hurling. The majority supported provincial groups. It's goes with the preferred structure that 2 Munster giants will be knocked out at the provincial stage. I haven't heard Waterford nor Tipperary complain too much about it. Put up or shut up by motions through congress.

6 days is short turn around from McDonagh Cup final on a Sunday and All-Ireland preliminary quarter-finals on a Saturday evening. Galway and Kilkenny are being given 7 days for their replay.

Thought we might get the extra day all right but I see it as a great opportunity.

Gaa getting a lot of stick at the minute but the Mcdonagh cup has been a great success with tight games and now a challenge for Carlow and Westmeath to show how good they are.

Carlow don't do excuses any more.

Replying To perfect10:  "so about 20 matches to eliminate 2 teams?"
Is it true,as suggested in another thread, that the quarter finals will both be played on Saturday evening July 14th in Pairc Ui Caoimh?
