Cork tried to get support for an All-Ireland stage Super 8 in hurling. The majority supported provincial groups. It's goes with the preferred structure that 2 Munster giants will be knocked out at the provincial stage. I haven't heard Waterford nor Tipperary complain too much about it. Put up or shut up by motions through congress.

6 days is short turn around from McDonagh Cup final on a Sunday and All-Ireland preliminary quarter-finals on a Saturday evening. Galway and Kilkenny are being given 7 days for their replay. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 7822 - 02/07/2018 22:44:25 2117947 Link 0 |
i think it is very unfair on carlow and westmeath to make them play so soon again. perfect10 (Wexford) - Posts: 3929 - 03/07/2018 10:14:15 2118015 Link 0 |
Thought we might get the extra day all right but I see it as a great opportunity. Gaa getting a lot of stick at the minute but the Mcdonagh cup has been a great success with tight games and now a challenge for Carlow and Westmeath to show how good they are. Carlow don't do excuses any more. carlovia (None) - Posts: 1517 - 03/07/2018 11:08:01 2118037 Link 0 |

Is it true,as suggested in another thread, that the quarter finals will both be played on Saturday evening July 14th in Pairc Ui Caoimh?
