why should it showed it does not look like it's a close game on paper. we might still think we are something in Meath but our forms shows we are a poor team

well I have always said that everyone is entitled to their opinion and to express their views on sites like this but I'm afraid that you just take the biscuit!! I am a Meath supporter who just happens to be born and bred in Meath and from north Meath into the bargain and I am quite sure I'm not alone in not giving Two Sh1ts what club a player is from when he represents our county!!! its time those who only seem to be happy criticising are called out, you cant have it both ways! They train too much/ and yet they are fat!! He's not good enough but as soon as he WALKS AWAY, he's god's gift to football!! Like every other genuine Meath fan I want them to be successful and maybe a new manager will be required after next week but until that arises I will support the manager and the team who have almost certainly made major sacrifices to be part of this panel . Yes it should be a privilege to represent your county but we all should appreciate what that entails - whichever club they represent!!!!

Loving the positive attitude and energy. Sure why bother showing any Meath games.

Jesus ya would swear it was a personal insult you were being given!! Outsid eof Meath and Tyrone who will want to see this game?? Rte, Sky or whatever other T.V. station there is will pick games that will draw the highest viewings.......Tyrone will barely get a crowd to watch them unless its against one of the big teams like Mayo, Dublin, Kerry and Meath are even lower down than that from a ratings perspective!! Personally I'd love to see it on T.V. but it would make no sense compared with the other games they have to choose from.

time we open our eyes here in Meath We are a poor team and it's time we face up to that and start continueing our good work at underage level and put someone in place at senior level who can start to rebuild things

Originally when I heard we drew Tyrone I thought we have no chance but the more I think about it I feel a bit more hopeful. Looking back on the longford game I think a few things need to be taken into perspective, I know we often have the opinion that Meath should be beating most teams in Leinster easy enough but longford deserve respect. They're always competitive in Pearse Park and they would put it up to any team down there including Kerry and Tyrone in previous years. Secondly, it is very hard to win a game when 3 of our forwards did not perform. Donal Lenihan, Cillian O'Sullivan and Bryan Mahon all had a very ordinary game, we've seen before that all three players can be really good on their day and as well Although graham Reilly scored three points he's capable of doing more damage. I think Eamon and Joey Wallace are great options to have coming off the bench, I think unlike some of the other players on Sunday, when they came on you could really see how badly they wanted to win but I think mcentee left it too late bringing them on. meathalltheway (Meath) - Posts: 789 - 29/05/2018 13:29:30 2105267 Link 1 |
In fairness this current Meath teams performances this year have give us very little to be positive about. We'll live in hope we beat Tyrone but it's going to take an almighty Meath performance and for Tyrone to have a major off day.

Thank you, Crinigan, a few weeks ago I mentioned the 'choke word' in relation to Ratoath losing 9 pt lead against St Pats in the first round of the championship and I was savaged. If Donaghmore/Ashbourne are running busses to Dublin games then I am simply overwhelmed with disbelief. I could understand a club down the country running a bus to an All Ireland semi-final and maybe playing a friendly in Dublin but never to support a rival county. The old residents in Ashbourne should never have agreed to the club name being changed anyway to suit the newbies and now they support our keenest rivals, I don't mind individuals supporting a county to which they have an affiliation but for the club to do so is abhorrent to me. As to the Tyrone game I simply want to remind everybody that I still rate the loss to Westmeath as worse than last Sunday. Even after that debacle Tyrone had to use all their guile and craftiness to eek out the win in Omagh so Saturday or Sunday week will be no different. But we need to be more conventional and keep some forwards, yes plural, up front at all time. MillerX (Meath) - Posts: 1058 - 29/05/2018 13:46:28 2105278 Link 0 |
Any ideas why the throw in time is being kept secret? The GAA have confirmed it's on Sat 09 and confirmed its not being televised, so whats delaying the confirmation of a time? Jinxie (Meath) - Posts: 6340 - 29/05/2018 14:57:14 2105302 Link 0 |
We just need to concentrate on winning this and forgetting what people are saying about how terrible we are (from Meath supporters & haters to every other county in the land) and about how Tyrone are going to batter us in this game....blah blah blah. Im sick of hearing about it to be honest. Although its always good going in as underdogs i suppose. Loyalroyal17 (Meath) - Posts: 627 - 29/05/2018 15:02:40 2105307 Link 1 |
We play with no full forward line and at times no forward line its a new system that's pure and utter stupid. But stick to the system ahhhhhhhhhhhh

What are we capable of when all the players are at the races? I've yet to see it and I've been at all the majoritu of games this year

Maybe not....but Meath will still need one hell of performance to beat Tyrone ! If Meath get the result against Tyrone it would be a great lift for Meath...get one or two easy draws after that we might build a good bit of momentum and who knows ! Its a football game and anything can happen so still have my fingers crossed. Hopefully Andy will take the straight jacket off our players and try and get us to play in a attacking traditional format more suitable to us. Just let them go for it and see what happens. Don't want to see any more muck football and if we lose so be it.

It's a huge step up from beating poor sides like Louth and Westmeath to beating a seasoned D1 side like Tyrone.
