Don't talk such rubbish. You can make a case for anyone making the Super 8s if they got "a favourable draw". Munster has been a carve up between Cork and Kerry for a 100 years but nobody was on here moaning about that. Dublin have been embarrassing more than teams from Leinster this last few years. Remember what happened when Monaghan and Tyrone tried to take them on last year? Lost by more than Kildare did in the Leinster Final. Maybe you should look at how awful Munster has been historically before you look down your nose at anyone else. Or does it not matter if you are the ones winning??

The discussion is the state of Leinster atm. The average handicap in every game with the dubs is closing in on 20 points a game. Its not competitive anymore. The fact is at the moment Munster is at a far healthier state then Leinster. No point trying to deny this. You can look at results from years gone by til the cows come home but its plain for everyone to see. KY4SAM2015 (Kerry) - Posts: 898 - 11/06/2018 16:14:00 2110043 Link 0 |

The only ones who seem to point out about Munster are Leinster people highlighting the hypocrisy of it all. And the second horse in Munster has been hobbling for quite some time. What was it last year, 15 points in the final?

How then was Leinster the closest provincial final last year if all the other provinces are so superior?? Nobody ever seems to want to address that. None so blind as those that cannot see.

Its clear to everyone that Leinster is the most uncompetitive. Dublin 1/200 and 15 points in the handicap in the final of your province says everything about the state of Leinster at the moment. Its that simple.

Munster final went to a replay as recently as 2015. Cork have the footballers to compete with Kerry but they've had a shambles of a setup holding them back in recent years. There were signs of a resurgence against Tipp recently but I suppose we'll know more in a few weeks. All this bickering over which provincial championship is worse is daft anyway. They system is outdated and needs to be restructured from the ground up. The super 8's is the first step in that direction IMO, the change will happen incrementally. You all seem to forget Leinster comprises of more counties than just Dublin. Outside of them it's actually quite a competitive province as my own county found to our cost recently. Amazing you are using Tipp, Clare and Cork to show what you call competitiveness but concentrate solely on Dublin when talking about Leinster. And what does it matter if the gap is 15 points as you say, or the 22 points Kerry beat Clare by? It's still not competitive.

Yes and all those other counties knew before Leinster began that they would not beat Dublin. So the Leinster championship atm is the only province which is over before it starts at present. Therefore the leinster championship is dead as that is what this thread is about. Cork will give be a tough game in two weeks giving the unknown nature of our team atm. I expect Tipp and Clare to keep improving but your right they still have a way to go before they challenge for the province. But the main point is Leinster is dead at the moment. munster is dead at the moment , tipp and clare wont be challenging that young Kerry team get real, and lets be honest here , munster was over before it started just like leinster. superbluedub (Dublin) - Posts: 2837 - 11/06/2018 18:40:15 2110169 Link 1 |

So Clare, Tipp and Cork were all thinking they could beat Kerry? You don't really believe that surely? What grounds had they? Clare must have gotten an almighty shock then! If Leinster is dead they can put us next to the Munster grave.

What a bunch of whingers and moaners on this thread. Leinster football is very strong at the moment. galwayford (Galway) - Posts: 2513 - 11/06/2018 20:20:57 2110214 Link 3 |
Actually find it quite funny now....seems to have developed into a "football is more dead in your province than it is in ours" kind of thread!

We wont be 1/200 to beat Cork or have a 20 point handicap, it'll be an actual contest

'Dead at the moment' that'd be a first since Lazarus! and that reminds me, there was an intercounty footballer called Lazarus .... a Leinster man as well as I recall NorthKildare (Kildare) - Posts: 197 - 11/06/2018 22:31:09 2110292 Link 1 |
We are worried about the future health of the game going forward If the Monster the GAA created could destroy a vibrant Football province like Leinster (great traditions and bigger populations than the others) there is nothing stopping to the AI becoming a wasteland and irrelevant in Irish society) 37thHeaven (Kerry) - Posts: 102 - 11/06/2018 22:33:14 2110294 Link 1 |
