Really looking forward to the trip up to Pearse Park today. Best wishes to Andy and all the panel, it's a big big game for Meath and we can't underestimate the challenge ahead of us.

Terrible first half. The rain is now coming down. We should have at least 2 goals out of 4 goal chances. Very very nervy team. Need to up it big time in second half or we will be joining Kildare.
Hon the royal. Come on lads you better than this.

We are like an Italian Tank- two forward gears and six reverse gears. Pity Kilkenny aren't in the back door.

Why can't our more experienced players take the bull by the horns in games like this? So frustrating.

Jesus h Christ how can u expect to win with forwards back in ur own half.the fear of playing that way again Longford tells its tale for me.

Longford fully deserving winners, no question about that. They had the two best players on the pitch in James McGivney and midfielder Darren Gallagher. Very poor stuff from Meath again, clearly McEntee is not the man for the job. Short summer for us this year.

Well done to longford well deserved win.

Meath, well I would say and I know we are all very disappointed. Im sick with disappointment to the pit of my stomach. But it was always going to be this way. We are years behind the top teams. McEntee needs to be given two more years. We will probaly have Forde Mckeever Jones Rooney O Coilean back in next 2 years and some of the underage players will come through. Try to get into div 1 next year. The fact is Dwyer Boylan and McGee had nightmare results in their first 3 years. Boylan hammered by laois , Dwyer walks away frm kildare and McGee losing first round match to div 4 team all in third year in charge. Walsh had hammerings in year 2 v Tipp and year 3 with Rossies. Gilroy had record defeats v kerry in year 1 and Meath in year 2. This part of the course. I know i know this is a gut wrenching sickening feeling to the guts. Criticize the management the team say negative things. You are entitled to be angry and furious. You are right to feel this way. But I plead for the sake of Meath football no knee jerk reactions. As long as McEntee is given another 2 years that is the only chance we have of digging ourselves out of this mess. Armagh gave McGeeney 4 years and he hasnt won 1 single match in Ulster and spent 3 of the last 4 years in division 3. We have to give McEntee the same timescale. If after year 4 the same results then he goes. Use the next two years to develop an sucessor. Someone like Geraghty should be charge of the under 20s.

Again this is bad result in our history. The same as as louth in 75, Wexford 81, Longford 82, Laois 85, Dublin 95, Fermanagh in 03 and 04 , Cavan in 05, Wexford in 06 and 08, limerick in 08, Dublin 14, Westmeath and Derry in 15. The train will leave the station again next year. We arent as bad as we are today. There is light at the end of the tunnell. I believe we are 12 to 24 months away were we want to be. Thats just my opinion I could be right I could be wrong.

We are all hugely disappointed. And you are right to criticise and be angry. But I would plead with Meath supporters that gettin McEntee out aint going to help us in the long run and I believe if he goes this year we more then likely follow the path of laois and Derry to div 4. Thats just my opinion. Thats all.
It is a bad bad day for Meath football. Hugely disappointed. But well done to longford. The better team won.

Simply awful. Our poor National League form was there for all to see. Players simply looked like they knew they were going to be beaten in Longfords back yard. Players who have left did not believe and players who stayed don't believe in the project either

Two more years for McEntee are you been serious? Do you want to end up in Division 4?
Meaths management team are way out of their dept and not up to it sadly. Time to cut your losses asap for the good of Meath football. I remember your previous manager getting dogs abuse on here and he was a better manager than what ypu currently have. His problem was he stayed too long dont make the same mistake as you did before. P45

Actually very worrying for the GAA longer term to see traditional powerhouses like Meath, Derry, Down, Kildare, Cavan in the gutter. (Yes, I know Cavan are division 1 next year but we'll be straight back down.)

Meath have plenty of managers at Meath and Meath Development Level. But they have no coaches, they simply don't have coaches who can't coach and setup a team in smart manner to maximize what we have . Look at Carlow. Down man coaching them. Dire setups in Meath

Hardly a shock result. This Meath team is devoid of any real talent. The league was a joke and I believe that this management team is overated.
It was a great match for longford and Denis.
