Great games in the Munster championship this year in particular... Limerick and Cork was exceptional hurling game with thrills and spills at every turn. Huge block down on Harnedy at the death for the draw! That young man from Limerick that got the red will learn a lot... Cork were fleet footed but still left a few scores wide of the posts. Horgan was fantastic again... Cork v Tipp another thriller... great for the game and plenty of more games left!!! Fantastic fare so far. Leinster is going along the lines as anticipated with next weeks game between Wexford and Kilkenny being a pivotal one for Davy and Kilkenny... championship is going well. Great crowds being treated to great games.

Munster Championship despite all the positive hype around the round-robin is now effectively over - only half way through the 10 games. 5 games left now. And 5 to go, and the only match of any relevance is next week Tipp V Clare....to see who joins Limerick and Cork in All IReland series. All the rest dont really matter....as waterford are cannon fodder, even by their own admission. Tipp cant make munster final now too, so at best will be in third place. At best they cant catch either cork or limerick. Irrespective of what happens in that dead rubber of final round game between limerick and clare.

You say Tipp Clare us the only game with relevance but you have assumed that Tipp will win because you started that Limerick Clare will be a dead rubber.
Waterford have been very unlucky with injuries and on previous form would have been one of the favourites to progress.

relevance as I said in my original post for all ireland advancement. i.e to make the top 3 in munster. That is really all that matters (no worries in Tipp if they dont make a munster final, and they cant now in all reality) The clare / limerick result will have no bearing now on who makes the top 3......after the results of the first 5 games,,,,,,,obviously on the reasonable assumption that waterford this year will be whipping boys.....as the bookies seem to believe.

Unless Waterford cause a shock and beat Limerick because I'd expect Clare to beat Limerick and if Clare beat Tipperary does that mean Limerick would go through as 3rd on the head to head if Tipperary and Limerick finish with 3pts each

Katser you don't know the dynamics of Munster hurling. You called yesterday's game totally wrong. Limerick will beat Clare in Ennis. Clare are a fantastic team but I think they ll be out by then.

"I'd expect Clare to beat Limerick" Really, on what basis? It's a genuine question; and while I will not say Clare can't beat Limerick, from what I've seen so far I'd back Limerick to beat Clare. The bookies seem to agree with me. Limerick are 2/1 joint favourites, with Cork, to win the Munster Championship; whilst the shortest price on Clare is 11/2.

I don't know if Waterford can keep it going today but I wouldn't think they will finish on zero points when group stage is over.

Well PeggyShippen... I put my hands up and say I got it completely wrong this weekend as I fancied both Cork and Tipperary to win!! And as for Waterford to finish bottom... a win against Limerick next weekend and they are right back in the huntsman! ! That's the beauty of the Munster SHC it's just so unpredictable and I want to thank the 5 hurling teams for bringing such excitement and entertainment to watch on TV. Wonderful hurling from all 5 and long my it last!

11/2 Clare...that's a great price and definitely worth a few pound! My basis is I think Clare are a better team than Limerick and actually are a real contender for the All Ireland too.

Every weekend seems to have an impact on the next.

God only knows which way its going to go. Very hard to look any further than 1 week down the line

Yeah, we have some job on our hands to beat them next week and they certainly won't fear us the way we are playing at the minute. If they beat us and Limerick then they are in a Munster Final and who knows from there.

I have no idea where this faith in Clare comes from every year.

Most of them have an All-Ireland and league title in their pocket - A load of under 21 titles also.

Similar to Limerick in the noughties - people always thought there was potential

fantastic performances from both @LimerickCLG teams saturday, fantastic travelling support must have been around 10k limerick fans, credit both teams for a brilliant game and atmosphere

flanagan and tom morrossey outstanding, ive been wathcing these lads since under 16s and it great to see the maturing as hurlers, really impressed wiht our minors as well playing these games before senior ones will stand them in good stead.

Really delighted with the way we have performed so far, esp compared to 2015/16/17, another win or 2 draws get us to knockout stages, but the two games ahead are going to be very very tough, waterford now having played in gaelic grounds will negate home advanage,

There a lot to love about new format home matches, the quality of matches, the amount of games but also the permutations , I cant see it going back to the old system

hopefully we get a huge crowd in gaelic grounds and a performances on sunday,

Difference between the Limerick back then 2000,2001,2002 (U21 Champions) they got hammered by KilKenny when they did get to a All Ireland SHC final

Lost by 7pts to a far superior team. Fought tooth and nail, after going 10 down after 10mins...
Well beaten in the end but we weren't hammered. Think you're mixing us up with waterford the following year.
