It just dawned on me today that the provincial championships kick properly into life this weekend, with the All-Ireland hurling champions in hurling making their championship bow as well as Kilkenny, Donegal, Cavan, Dublin, Offaly, etc. Pinkie (Wexford) - Posts: 4100 - 08/05/2018 15:07:19 2097303 Link 0 |

The Connacht football championship started on Sunday. At the end of a programme previewing this year's championships, the Sligo v London and NewYork v Leitrim games got about 3 minutes coverage at best. thelongridge (Offaly) - Posts: 1706 - 08/05/2018 15:40:09 2097316 Link 0 |
I know they started already, you are missing my point. There was nothing about them thus far. Bad promotion by all involved was my point Pinkie (Wexford) - Posts: 4100 - 08/05/2018 15:59:50 2097323 Link 0 |

A question i have is this. All the people who are complaining about the New York etc not being on TV. How many would have actually watched it? Now that it's after the fact everyone will of course say they would have. New York have been playing in the championship for the last 20 years and their games have never been televised so why is it now an issue? why (Kildare) - Posts: 142 - 09/05/2018 09:45:09 2097455 Link 1 |
perfect10 (Wexford) - Posts: 2322 - 09/05/2018 08:57:48- I think it is more of god help us. All games should get the equal promotion. It appears that the weaker teams within the GAA do not exist in either hurling or football. I was of the opinion that the licence fee was being paid by all counties! browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2340 - 09/05/2018 09:46:21 2097456 Link 0 |
Good point regarding the treatment of 2nd and subsequent tier competitions, look how poorly the Gaa promotes it's main competitions, a second tier in football wouldn't stand a chance.

For a promotional facelift launch, the GAA could go with this - omahant (USA) - Posts: 2531 - 09/05/2018 17:08:19 2097628 Link 0 |
