Are we putting a team in this year?

Seen nothing about it , is it the same management as last year?

Are they training at the minute?

Juniors have gone back to picking all those allowed to play regardless of age, feel this is a backward step, last year vast amount of the Junior Squad were U23, this worked well and gave lads great exposure

I see Cavan have withdrawn from the competition so Longford get a bye to the semi final v Meath

Would prefer they stick to playing U23 in this competition as gives young players in the county some experience at playing intercounty

Lost by a goal to Cork, they have over 30 lads in at the moment and there is a strong possibility some on the senior squad will join the panel should they not play against Tyrone on Saturday night. Flanagan, Griffin, Dempsey and Martyn are 3 that spring to mind.

Thoughts on team and the game itself?

Fairly strong looking team given that we are not using it as U23 team, hopefully they can get the job done tonight. Lot of clubs not represented like Curraha for instance, presume lads chose not to make themselves available

Darragh, was on the Meath senior panel but believe he is injured as is Stephen Coogan who will be out for a while. David Toner has also gone Stateside...

Best of luck to the lads tonight, strong looking team, interesting to see Andy Tormey back in a Meath shirt, we're defending champions so let's do our best to retain.
