No County For Small Forwards

(Oldest Posts First)

I'm just after reading Owen mulligans article on the poor wee Tyrone forwards, talk about trying to implant something in a refs head ..Monaghans defence has matched the best forwards this year so far,big or small.taking that the league counts for nothing come championship as Monaghan are well aware of,I just hope that our defence doesn't give away as handy of frees as they did against Tyrone in Castleblaney in the league that actually left the result looking like a close game.No doubt Tyrone's tiny forwards will be up for it and won't be afraid of the towering giants that will be surrounding them .Lets hope that this is a great game that is well refereed and has a fantastic atmosphere ,And Back to Owen, his article was a bit like the pot calling the pan black arse

Talks about handy frees when Monaghan have Conor McManus playing for them. Now that's pot, kettle and black and arse!!!!

Good job Owen wasn't playing in the 1980,s when Monaghan had men of the calibre of Gerry McCarville etc. I think he makes a valid point when Tyrone last won the All-Ireland big Sean Cavanagh acted as a focal point for the attack and scored some great scores himself. Forwards like Stevie O'Neill, Mulligan himself and others could look after themselves but Tyrone do not have this type now and have to play a different way. Totally agree Lee Brennan must play and take all frees.

Well Conor does get plenty of deserved frees but he can the most of some tackles to get a few more that would soft. Still has a long way to go...I don't recall him or any of our lads having a near death experience from a ruffled hair do :)
