The very best of luck to him in his recovery.

Multiple fractures to his skull after being savagely assaulted on the street. A very serious incident and thankfully there have been arrests but that won't be much use if he doesn't make a full recovery.

Truly terrible stuff but again the very best to him and his family. Hopefully he will be taking to the field before long.

Disgusting attack on this lad. Hopefully he pulls through ok and those responsible are held to account. Simply not acceptable to do this to another person for whatever reason.

Just reading about it online, wild stuff. Is where he's from in Laois close to Carlow? I wouldn't know the Geography of the area. Not that i'm justifying it but would it not be a bit odd to be going to carlow town the night after you beat them in a final? You will always get some clown that has a chip on his shoulder and a point to prove.

Anyway best wishes to this young man in his recovery.

Yep part of Carlow town is in Laois. A bit like part of Drogheda is in Co. Meath, a bit of Waterford City is in Kilkenny and bit of Athlone is in Roscommon. Jaysus there are borders everywhere in this country.

Afaik his club is essentially on the edge of Carlow town although it is in Laois so I presume that he has basically grown up in Carlow town.

So hardly unusual for the lad to be out and about what is his home town.

Graiguecullen could be classed as a part of Carlow town. So the poor man probably doing something he's done all his life. Whither it's over football or not doesn't matter. I'll never understand how someone can almost beat another person to death.

Cheers for the geography lesson boys. Insane that someone could do that to another person. Only takes one punch. Never understood boys that's would go out for a row on a night out.

Drink would be the biggest factor I'd say.
