He said that Molloy has to start this weekend for Galway although he hasnt played a senior inter county game in his life."
Austin prove it... Show me where i stated Molloy has to start..

And not Willie Nelson! Tom's rock solid, like Nally in 81!

And, of course, there is no guarantee nowadays that the named team will be the one to actually start.

But Belclare doesn't have issues with the starting 15 which doesn't include any corofin players ?

I think there's a good chance that's the 15 that will start but we have a lot of very talented forwards and based on league performance comer and Brannigan are the only 2 who had nailed down their starting positions due to the others being inconsistent. unfortunately I don't think Brannigan is fit. The forwards going well in training will be the ones to start . If it's a close game with 10 mins to go I think we have the strongest forwards off the bench to finish out the game. There's now competition in the forwards to get in the 1st 26.

I'm getting more nervous as the game approaches. Neither team will be looking beyond this game and if Mayo play like they did against dublin last year we are in trouble. But i have the faith ! Throw the kitchen sink at them and we are going to do it

Gaillimh abù!

No Vaughan, Keegan, Barrett or Harrison massive massive loses to Mayo, not sure about O Donoghue Mannion toasted him in the league game mind you Mannion does that to most defenders, Cafferkey had a great '12 but has been a weak link ever since and his confidence is at an all time low from the league we're he was ran ragged. Starting to change my mind on who I think will win with them 4 not playing. As we know Mayo's strongest link is their defense them 4 out changes everything imo.

Keegan was never in the frame. Barrett, Vaughan and Harrison could all feature at some stage and one may start.

I wouldn't rule out Jason Doherty starting either.

I know Keegan wasn't starting but to add the other 3 on top of that Is huge imo. Mayo's biggest strength is their defense.

I am presuming the Mayo team is a dummy team to be honest, I expect 2 or 3 changes from that. We could even see Hennelly in goals.

They both have to be 2 dummy teams named.
Alot will depend on how O Shea and Comer play.
With O Shea i dont Mayo get the balance right between playing him mid field and full forward, when hes tired he drops back instead of going into full forward. And with Comer i think he comes out the field too often and needs to be inside more.
Caffereky cant be on him, now he was bad last year but had an alright second half marking him. But Mayo improved last year after the roscommon draw when they finally dropped him.
Cillian O Connor might not be starting so that coild mean Hennelly starting for frees, which isnt the greatest option. Cillian has been less assured with frees but Hennelly is not consisent with them either, he just has a good kick from the ground and Doherty, who you would expect to start, was great with dead balls against Kerry last year but was terrible in the league against Dublin so a free taker could be a big issue for Mayo and it will let Galway foul them knowing this.

It should be a great contest and difficult to decide who will win. Galway had a great league but the championship is a different level of competition with no hiding place. Mayo have gained a lot of experience over the years.

Galways strength is their defence and they are going into this game with 3 defenders with injury problems and another one of their best defenders not available for selection. With those defensive issue its hard to make a case for Galway winning this game against a Mayo side that are playing at home in front of 20k of their our support and team and management that have bee targeting this match since the draw was made.

I'm going to go for Mayo to win a bad temper low scoring contest by 2 or 3 points.

It should be close but I think Mayo will just shade it. Indiscipline might have a part to play as I feel that yellow cards could be flying

I think Mayo will win also, they know their best route with the mileage on the clock and three highly competitive super 8 games ahead is through the front door this summer. For all the hype about this game for months I won't be one bit surprised if it turns out to be a dour game where a moment of pure luck produces the winner.

Mayo by 5 points. All the experts going for Galway but I think you will see Mayo fly out of the blocks tomorrow (I hope).

I feel Mayo will nick this. Mayo should be hungry, a lot of people writing this Mayo team off. Mayo seem to play better when they have something to prove. My worry would be Ger Cafferty at full back (if he starts), he could get wiped out very easily. Looking forward to it.
On another note, a lot of podcasts and reports I've listened too and read seem to be heaping pressure on the ref, Conor Lane I think it is. The GAA Hour and Off the Ball both said they expected there would be fireworks etc and said the ref was going to be under massive pressure. Refs would undoubtedly hear this and I feel that's unfair to the Ref. If both sets of players are going to break the rules then they have to deal with the consequences.
Anyway good luck to both teams, should be a good game. Can't beat the Championship!!!!

If all the experts are going for us as you allege most of the posters are going for ye. At a pre championship forum last weekend in Oranmore half the panelists went for Mayo. Some of the analysts on the nationals also going for Mayo so
a little mythical that all experts tipping Galway. Hopefully our players can use all the home crowd booing they probably will receive tomorrow to become twice as determined. If we had not beaten ye the last two years running I would be confident of victory as we are younger and seriously talented but ye have the revenge factor.
