Vintage Jersey Query

(Oldest Posts First)

just picked up an old Carlow Jersey off eBay. it's very plain style in traditional tricolour. it has the Gaa insignia and the old Carlow badge. with Stone development on front.
Can anyone tell me what year it is from?
I really like it particularly the proper Carlow coat of arms,
will give it its first outing at Laois game
SO WHAT YEAR DID WE CHANGE THE BADGE

.

I think the badge changed for 09 season, my guess would be mid 00s possibly earlier for the jersey

About 04 Blackbog. Have one of those myself in the wardrobe and would consider it as a 'new jersey'. When I saw vintage, I was thinking cotton, i.e. of the ones that used to tear the armpits out of ya and is probably now too small from a few decades of porter.

The last year of the old cotton jersey was 2002, raging I threw out mine few years back, would love to have kept it. 2003 then we got the new jersey with new material, the sleeves were nearly down to your wrist they were that long. Think it was 09 we changed the crest ye, the new one is a bit stupid and plain but that's an argument for another day.

Sorry but I have one from 2001 with "15" on the back, packed it in then but kept the jersey, hence the user name.

Maybe you do supersub but in 2002 the Carlow GAA sides were still using the old cotton ones, I have old photos of games plus I can remember who we even played that year in them. Anyway not a big deal either way

Sure isn't a Carlow jersey a Carlow jersey regardless. Speakin of what jersey anyway, I hope there are loads of them on show in Belfast and Portlaoise on Sunday. Shame they have to clash. I am going to Portlaoise but will be listening in online to the football before hand.
