Looks like Dermo will get a stretch of his legs in this one and some good news is that Cormac Costello looks available, hope he gets some miles under his belt for the rest of the league.

It's a double header with the ladies, ladies game kicking off at 5pm.

If you're going to the game, get in for 4.30pm

An away win in Castlebat will be a very fitting way for Cluxton to celebrate his 100th League appearance for Dublin, a very impressive achievement.

But far from easy and despite what some are saying on this thread I have a feeling that this is going to be a hard slog for Dublin and if they pick up 2 away points on Sat night.. they'll be hard earned

I'd be surprised jimbo if we made a game of it but in reality we could do with our lads outing in a good performance

Can't see anything but one way traffic to be honest. I think we have to settle for damage limitation and a moral victory if we can keep it below seven or eight points. At the moment we have to pick our battles and this isn't one of them. Still think we'll be there or thereabouts come Summer though.

Good news for Mayo in the forward department and young Cian Hanley seems to have linked up with the squad after his years in the AFL, looked a decent forward at underage.

Wonder will he be involved tomorrow.

Unfortunately can't get to the game today all the best to the travelling Dub support and good to hear that there's isn't a room to spare around the place.

A fine part of the country

Here's to a good game. It's going to be a cold one.

Strange performance from us, very good in the first half, both teams were shite in the 2nd. Another 2 points away.

Happy with the win but hopefully Jim will take note of the 2nd half with only 1-1 being scored. Bring on the Kingdom

Predicable result , a blind man and a corpse couldn't get that one wrong , played pretty much to script , hate throw away cliches but Christ that was a false news game , no bearing on the summer , that said rather be leaving with the points than without , in a strange way Mayo will be happy anyone I spoke to really feared a hiding , that did not happen

I think Dublin were happy to play within themselves in the 2nd half, though 1-1 is a very poor return, if Gavin wanted us to hammer them he would have drove that home to them from the sideline.

Any chance of Mayo winning an All Ireland title has come and gone, these young lads who should be chomping at the bit looking for a chance to prove themselves worthy of a starting place in the county team are doing nothing, they are just passengers, young O'Donoghue at cornerback is the only player proving himself worthy, we were poor at goalie, no 2, no 3, 6, 7, 8 and 9, 10, 11, 14 and 15, only 4 were worthy of a place, Dublin played like a training session, Mayo looked like a group that had been in the pub all day and then showed up for a game that night, it's only late February but the omens don't look good, relegation looks a likely price for poor performances, May 13th God help us on current form, 15000 at tonight game well done, be lucky if 15 Mayo people travel to Kildare next Sunday

Another away win

Just a glorified training session but Dublin controlled it well and as I thought a far better performance from Mayo compared to the Kerry shambles

Good stuff

Huge congrats to Steve Cluxton

100 League appearances for Dublin and played well. His consistency is outstanding.

Great travelling Dubs support. All in all... lovely jubbly

Hope the ref's arm recovers soon - seemed to be permanently stuck pointing towards Cluxton anywhere within Dublin's half...

Yeah fair play to Cluxton, he was still out posing for pictures ten minutes after the match. Bernard Flynn wouldn't have been happy. Mayo were never going to win with their long list of absentees but we didn't get the hiding I feared. It doesn't look as if any of our fringe players are pushing for places so it looks like same old, same old come Summer. If everyone stays fit we'll be competitive but if we have a bad run of injuries we'll be in bother. Dubs looked good without stretching themselves.

I suppose it's another way of saying "Dublin conceded a lot of frees in their own half", if a bit convoluted!

Awful second half from us. Lots of hand passing but no attempt to break the Mayo line. Poor enough game all round, I thought, from the best two footballing counties in the country. Fair play to Mayo for going man to man but they paid the price with that early goal. Other than that I thought Dublin were fairly toothless up front. 1-1 in the second half was awful. On a separate note, I thought players from both sides went down fairly easy tonight with little contact. That tackle from AOS looked very dangerous, will have to watch it back. A pet hate of mine, Dublin players disrupting frees, not retreating or else slapping the ball out of the takers hands and conceding 10 yds. K Mc is always at it. Ridiculous and needs to be stamped out. Another good 2 points on the road. Keep the Jacks out of Croke Park!

Yeah Mayo should have been willing to run through a brick wall to beat Dublin tonight and not just the young players, all of them.

I don't by the league doesn't matter argument that can be bandied about. The last two times Tipp won the All-Ireland, they beat Kilkenny who were the reigning champs in the league and follow it up again in September.

Dublin seem to have a big psychological edge over Mayo now. Kerry may not have met Dublin in the championship last year but they made sure to beat them in the league final.

Sorry for the rant, but ffs, why do Mayo let Dublin come down to Castlebar and run amok.

Neither team should get too carried away with positivity or negativity. If Loftus was on earlier Mayo could have at least drawn with missed frees. After 30 mins in 2nd half both teams had scored twice in that period.
Media overhyping the Dubs at times. While I enjoy watching them the past 2 league games they have been fortuitous in the oppositions free taking been so poor.
They have Con, jack to comeback but Mayo started without Barrett, Parsons, S O Shea, Cillian, Durcan, Harrison, Clarke (who would have saved the second goal and maybe the first at near post) so these two teams will be around when All a Ireland semis come but yesterday's game will have no bearing on their championships, thankfully!
