Bernard Brogan Serious Injury

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Not sure if this has been said but Bernard was a really clean footballer never a dirty stroke.
Didn't get involved in sledging or rubbish and carried himself with dignity in the Dublin shirt.
One of the last links apart from Cluxton to know what the barren years were like!!
Super footballer great tradition in that family and a Kerry mam so he had great stock.

Alan got the fairytale finish to his career and I hope Bernard isn't finished.Sport is often cruel and would be lousy way for him to bow out. It'll be difficult and he's a busy guy so he'll have to mull it over and do what's best for him.God knows he owes us nothing.

From what I know of Bernard no way will he go out like this , he's not a quitter, it will be hard to come back between age and young guns fighting for the jersey, but I hope he takes inspiration from A Moran who showed last year that we are all too quick to look at someone's birth certificate as opposed to their heart desire and quality, would live to see him getting the send off he deserves, not go out like this , wish him a speedy recovery

Yeah was thinking the same thing. Moran is a year older than Brogan and was in the form of his life last year and that having overcome a similar injury. Bernard won't want to go out like this. Knowing how much he loves the game I don't doubt that he'll be back in blue. A class fella on and off the pitch. Get well soon Berno.

Yeh in fairness Andy Moran is a great inspiration in this regard!

Hope this is not true but wish him a speedy recovery if it is.

It may be difficult to get his place back in the squad at 35 given the embarrassment of riches Dublin have in the forwards but if anybody can do it I think it's brogan. He doesn't depend on blistering pace or athleticism and would be a valuable man around the squad even if he's not a starter.

It probably took Andy two full seasons to get back his sharpness though, not sure BB has that amount of time in a ferociously competitive Dublin set-up. Best of luck to him nonetheless.

You'd hope that's not it for BB.
He's been a great servant to Dublin and a gentleman on and off the field.
The best of luck in his rehab and recovery.

Send him over to Pep Guardiola and he'll be fit for the weekend.

I'm hoping that he doesn't need surgery and that intensive physio will sort it but if he definitely needs surgery and rehab then that could be 12-18 months so could be curtains. Certainly hope not, he's worth his weight in gold to the Dublin setup.
