Galway VS Mayo

The king is dead. Long live the king!

I don't know if, for the game in May, the lads will need to bring football boots or boxing gloves.

Condolences to Andy Moran and his family; puts a game of football into perspective.

Thought that was a poor game enough. Galway won it by being far more direct. Comer as a captain was probably lucky to stay on the field, far too much persistent niggle and fouling.

I couldn't believe how lateral Mayo were, it must be so frustrating to play as an inside forward with that crack going on. On top of that certain players seems unwilling to take the game on and just be a linkman... You have to take the responsibility rather than wait for one of your so called better players to turn up and pass to....way too late

Replying To Ailteoir:  "I don't think you can blame the ref there. Mayo in the last 10 minutes were more interested in starting rows than playing football. As for Aidan O'Shea how he managed to stay on the pitch, God only knows."
Cillian deserves to go. Aidan is pulled and dragged off the ball as usual. Galway better team today but I think we will be ready in May

Dubs will feel the Mayo backlash in Castlebar, should be a cracker. Nice to see COC back to his usual self again

We haven't a hope of beating Dublin. Our games v Donegal, Tyrone and Kildare will decide our fate.

Cillian dished out a dirty elbow and deserved the red and think he was looking for it more than playing football. Diarmuid should never have got the first yellow, was a great steal i thought but Comer made a meal of it. Terrible game for the neutral. Galway deserving winners. Galway are on the up no doubt.

The backlashes backlash? Or did getting beaten by a bunch of Kerry young lads in Castlebar not upset ye?

A fair assessment. We tried to move the ball much more quickly when we won it. There was a stat that came up late in the first half showing Mayo had 120 handpasses to Galway's 35 at that stage.
It's very difficult to make any headway with a slow possession game this time of year.
It wasn't a great spectacle but we'll certainly take it. The pressure is off to a degree now, but I hope we keep playing with the same hunger and bite in the remaining games.
Midfield is still a worry, but Sean Andy has added a physical presence to the full-back line. Comer's continuing to be a handful and we have enough forwards who can kick their own scores.
Kerry and Dublin in amongst our last 4 games, so we'll have a better measure of the team by then.

COC finally the chickens are coming home to roost. Has been getting away with this for the last few years and nothing done about it.

We'll be given no chance against Dublin and without the safety net of relying on a good freetaker. Here's hoping we can try a spread of forwards taking on more opportunities from play. If we miss a few so be it but keep plugging away rather than fading and losing confidence. We've nothing to lose on Saturday week.

Ahh so it was the ref who started all the melee's? Let me guess, he didn't give out enough yellow cards at the start of the game. The players lost their discipline-no niggle for 65 odd minutes then all hell broke loose.

Don't know what game you were watching. If it was the Mayo/Galway game, you must have slept through most of it

Are all straight reds only a 1 match ban?
