But at the same time huge credit has to go to Mcentee this teams looks good at the minute.. I was very pessimistic after seeing a number of players leave the panel but to be honest only Harnan and maybe O'Coilean are really missed !! Huge thumbs up to Andy"
We're not in division 1 .....maybe he knows it wouldn't work in division 1 but it will in division 2, which we are in

Donnacha Tobin, if utilised properly, would be an asset too

I don't think that he would get into this team !! Seen him recently in a club match and he was very ordinary!! Didn't stand out at all !! Think it was best for everyone for him to step away !!

I suppose but i would ideally have a philosophy that would progress straight into division 1 should we be promoted ! To make the step up as easy as possible for everyone

Lads who couldn't commit or were surplus to requirements are of course missed by the supporters, but we have reached a new dawn, players know the have to battle hard for a spot, when you see harry Rooney having to wait his turn and realise he must fight for his spot it's fantastic, there is no tension in the panel they are as united panel as I have ever seen. Huge congratulations must go to all those in management who have created a team spirit and a professional work ethic. It's amazing to see. Onwards and upwards.

Lets settle a little and focus on this game.

We've drawn to Roscommon (after losing a 4 point lead in injury time) and hammered a Clare team which provided very little - 3 points from play?

Our recent history against Cavan is not pretty. Obviously it's practically 2 different sets of players but the mentality of teams continues.

From looking at Cavans results so far, they drew with Clare and hammered Louth - both of which are destined for relegation in my opinion. So perhaps not a lot to gather from that but they will be eager to lay down a marker as they too are joint top.

As good as our defence was I do think we are a bit open through the middle. I can see this being an issue.

We did extremely well versus Clare pushing them out to the flanks and waiting for the mistake/putting the hand in.

I can see both this and the Tipp game being tight and will define whether we are promoted or not.

This weekend again will be telling in the race for promotion/relegation and I can see wins for Tipp/Roscommon/Cork. We must keep the foot on the throttle and kick on

You are correct, Seen most of the players playing club championship with few of them standing out especially when playing on decent players.

This Tactic is very clever. Under O'Dowd we were going at teams full steam straight from kick off and we would be out of our feet by 50th min hence we were getting hammered in the last 20 mins of every game. this new tactic is giving us good legs for the last 20 and a good bench to empty like T O'Reilly and S, Tobin etc. if we play top teams from Division 1 and can go full pelt in the last 10 mins of the 1st half and the whole 2nd half we would be a match for most of those teams. But we have to make sure we are playing the ugly defensive football for the first 25 mins and conceding very little.

I think D Tobin would be a great addition to have in the team, ith the emergence of Lavin now as a corner back, Keoghan & Burke also and then Gallagher (simonstown if fit nd capable) Glynn or O Neill (Tones), it means that Tobin could be used in his more natural position of wing back, even as an option off the bench he would definitely strengthen the overall squad. At club level it is difficult to judge, as stated by most posters, alot of our county lads don't stand out as world beaters at club level with the exception I would say of McKeever, Lenihan, Keoghan, Mcgill. All of our other players do well without looking exceptional and expecially (no disrespect intended) with Blackhall being one of the weaker Senior football teams it is very difficult to stand out when those around you aren't pulling their weight as well.

So? We belong in division one, we are Meath, and it's fantastic that we hopefully will be heading there after so many near misses

If we didn't think we belonged there, there would really be no point accepting being anything else other than a mid-table Division 2 side. We've also got a manager who would never have won an All Ireland Club Championship if he didn't think his then club belonged there. See where I'm going with this?

We don't deserve to be in Division 1 Bernard, we deserve to be in Division 2 because we haven't been good enough over the last number of years to get out of it!! I do however fully believe that we are capable of winning the division this year and EARNING the the right to be in Division 1.....then we will deserve it.

Yes agree it can be hard for him as blackhall are struggling at senior level i havent seen as much of him as some of you's so im probably not best to judge I just haven't been too impressed any time i have seen him and would prefer harnan back if i could choose between them. If we keep playing as we are there'll be no need to worry anyway!
