Replying To Donaldtrump:  "Very true rural clubs struggle for numbers however it's the way Glan conduct themselves that often leaves people disgruntled with them.

2 years ago I remember reading articles about Claregalway winning some U16 final by W/O if I remember correctly. Glan played the "we had lads injured, gone away" etc card, which is fair enough they probably had.

A few weeks after that I saw another piece on Glan/Glinsk/Williamstown as they were at U14 hammering a Caltra team who had only 14 players to begin with and finished with only 13. Glan left 15 on the pitch though they were winning by a cricket score. So it's no wonder really people struggle to have pity for a club that carries on like that."
Fake News Donald

We dont seek pity from anyone , and will play anyone, merely pointing out that no stunt pulled as subsequent events i.e. Northern Gaels has shown.
I wont even get into examples of the number of times teams have left the full complement on against us in similar circumstances at underage level.
We are in the A competition , playing the favourites Claregalway and we'll give it a shot, no whinging about it , glad to step up and test ourselves.

Mountbellew v Monivea
Glan/Glinsk v Claregalway
KC/Kilererin v Annaghdown

Predictions for the weekend games,

Monivea might have too much for Mountbellew if John Daly still out. Monivea by 3

Glan/Glinsk and if rumours are true Williamstown combo will give Claregalway plenty of it, Glen/Glinsk had great year u21 and still training so hard one to call. If they do get Williamstown players in then Glan/Glinsk to win, as they will improve significantly the team that won the county B last year in minor , provided they dont all fall out during the game. Without them tip a draw.

KC/Kilererin v Annaghdown, like Glan Glinsk a lot will depend on picking the best team available to the combo, if they do that then KC/K to win.

You'd have to question the mind set of a straight knockout competition at this level. For half of the 19/20 year olds playing this weekend they're now out of the competition. A lot won't yet be big enough / good enough to play for their clubs first team and with college and exams may not commit to playing Junior grades. It's where the highest dropout rate occurs wouldn't at least a back door make more sense ?

Agree totally with your point. It's likely in any case that they will only play the first round now and postpone remainder till November as minor league is starting in 2 weeks or so. This grade has been ignored at club level for a long time. A lot of 20 year old players will never play again for club after this grade so they should give then a decent run of games.

Leitir Mor look to have good team in the u20 b
exciting talent for future in barret ,mc donagh and gubbins who have plated for galway under 20B
in the U20 A Salthill look very strong with many future stars in their team like the finnertys and maher
they look like there gonna have a very strong senior teamin a few years
they are very dominant at underage I think they have won 3 u14 titles in a row which is unreal
if they get those to come through to u16 minor etc which they usually do
they will following the present u20 team into senior ranks and create a really strong team for future

Any word on when West final will be played? Was meant to be end of march but has been put back and back. Could be wrong but dont think any of senior galway panel are involved (Maher, Finnerty, Conneely all let off it)
