Wouldn't be o sheas biggest fan but brolly using the platform he has to attack an individual player isn't right. It seems o shea is a player who won't let it bother him but still it's not right and it's not like Brolly was a legend on the pitch

He is bang out of order singling him out and placing all that pressure and blame on his shoulders. It's a team game ffs and Mayo wouldn't have gotten to the final without him. For whatever reason he's blaming Aidan for not taking the game to dublin in the final 20 mins in the final. Why him alone? He's out of order here imo. He's a fine player & the critisism he has received over the past year is totally unwarranted.

So who would you replace him with it the Mayo team?

Brolly talking absolute ring once again to grab a few headlines. Lee had a poor championship by his standards in 2017, didn't deserve an All Star. Aidan does need to improve, can still up his aggression, but deserves his place on the Mayo 15.

So players ability is based on if they would make the Dublin team or not?

How long did you play inter-county football for? Seeing as you're such a great judge

Wasn't lee injured for most of the year greenandred? And still he played mighty stuff.
Aidan is a bull of a man and sometimes players have a team that they just don't play well against, we have Shane enright who always struggle when we play Mayo but plays well against other teams.

There's not many outside of the Dublin team that could make the Dublin team. Awfully stupid comment to make. O'Shea has his faults but still a top player.

Ah now, don't be expecting too much from poor old Liam.
I mean this is the same fella that has given us such classic topics on here as the ongoing disgrace that Cluxton wasn't footballer of the year every year since 2011 or the disgrace that Dublin don't have 15 All Stars every year
Sure even Gooch or Maurice Fitz in their prime wouldn't get on this Dubs team don't you know. Eoghan O'Gara, mind, is one of the most outstanding talents of his generation ...

Ah yes Joe...the man who preaches respect in the GAA yet attacks individual players...AOS is not the first and won't be the last.

Brolly is definitely off his trolley with that ridiculous assertion. In fact Aidan O Shea almost singlehandedly dragged Mayo back into games that they were on the verge of losing last season, including the Derry game.

Ridiculous comment from Brolly. He has lost all credibility in my eyes. Now if he had said Aidan's brother he might have a point because I can think of at least 2 big games in recent years when Mayo conceded crucial scores immediately after mistakes by Seamus.

100% agree yew_tree. 'do as I say, not as I do, seems to be Joe's motto.

Aidan O'Shea is a fine player that would make any county team. Brolly is a parody of himself at this stage, throwing controversial statements out to keep himself relevant. Anyone that takes him seriously is not worth worrying about.

He made similar comments about Gooch a while back and most people rightly laughed it off. I can't believe RTE and other media outlets keep giving him an outlet to spew his nonsense.

Brolly wrong about AOS, would love to have the latter in Galway.

This is what pisses me off. Joe has on a consistent basis personally attacked players and managers, I mean it's nearly weekly. Yet we still give him a platform to preach his bile.
And people still think he's the second coming of Jesus Christ. He's a child in a small mans body. He loves this, us talking about him and in the news.

Even coming back from injury I thought Lee was below the standard of previous years.

AOS was very poor all last year. Gets on ball away from danger. Playing fullback helped Mayo v Kerry as he was kept away from slowing down their attack.

100% not a Brolly fan.

Also 100% of the belief AOS is a very ordinary player.
