Replying To Royal.Legend:  "Interesting game this one, kildares record against Dublin in last 4 or 5 years has been poor but there's no doubt Kildare are finally starting to catch them, hard game to call if Dublin arnt match fit then Kildare can beat them, which would be a big result for Kildare to finally get one over on the dubs, Kildare by one, I've a fealing I'm going to get slaughtered for that prediction from some of fellow county posters"
don't be silly man you should just predict as you see it !!!

That's it, certain people on here won't be talking to you this week. Everybody barring Mayo has a poor record against Dublin. You will find Dublin will be still doing the work in the back round and will still be well tuned up. Gavin never ever sends out a poor Dublin team. If we get something it's a bonus. We need to focus on the home games.

Not really that interesting a game for a neutral is it? Dublin at home against Kildare. I can't remember the last time Kildare beat Dublin in a competitive fixture.
People say the Dubs have been on holidays/not fit etc but most inter county players keep themselves in good condition over the off season. It's as if the come back 4 stone overweight and have to loss it.
Also they beat Kildare by 9 last year. Probably will be the same this time. I hope it's a good close game but just can't see it.

Not precious at all , mayo are miles ahead of at the minute, only asking the question when was the last time Mayo beat Dublin ? Was it the semifinal in 2012?

Yea 2012 semi final..I think it's 13 games since between league and championship Mayo have not beaten the dubs.

I was merely making the point in my opinion, not saying that it's worth much, overall Mayo have a better record against Dublin. I accept Kerry did beat Dublin last year, God knows I'd love to have that to say for Kildare.

Sound lads , I wasn't prodding just couldn't remember if Mayo had beaten Dublin in a league game in castlebar since the 2012 semi. Was there a draw in one of the mayo dub games in that time?

Was watching the Mayo Kerry replay from last August again Friday night and we were well and truly bate out the gap we have a lot of ground to make up on the top 2.

Kerry should have won the first game

EF got the tactics completely wrong for 2nd game and Mayo dismantled Kerry off the back of his tactical brain fart.

Think its a good chance for Kildare to win, but as you say Gavin never puts out a team that is unprepared. Kildare by 2/3

Ya had the kick to win at the end of the drawn game but Sheehan put it wide also bjk kicking a free to him self, you'd never have seen a gooch or a Declan O'sullivan doing that.
But fitzmaurice was poor on the sideline on both days.

Looking forward to Saturday night, this league campaign is huge for us this year. We as a squad need to build on last year and the only way we can do that is to compete against the big boys in division 1. Dublin no doubt will be rusty as its their first game back after a trip to South Africa while we were awful in the O'Byrne cup, make ya wonder if Cian O'Neill was targeting this game Saturday night. Hope we put a strong team out and improve on last years Leinster Final, this game won't dictate whether we stay in the division, our home games are what we need to concentrate on but Saturday will at least give an indicate where we are at this early stage of the year. Dublin by 3-5 points but hopefully after Saturday night Kildare have something to build towards for the remainder of the league.

Anyone want to put an estimate of likely attendance? I think I speak for most kildare folk when i say I would far rather have this match in parnell pk.

It's a double header so that'll bring a few more bodies on Saturday. The football followers, including season ticket and Parnell pass holders, generally contribute to a crowd of 20,000+ so Parnell Park is not an option.

Between the two games, I'd hazard a guess of over 30,000 at this as Kildare fans don't have too far to travel, relatively, and generally turn up in numbers. Whether there'll be 30,000 in the ground at any one time is a different question.

Hopefully we can put in a decent performance on Saturday. As others have said it will be our home games which will determine whether we can remain in Division 1. We have two home games in a row against Monaghan and Tyrone, something I don't ever remember Kildare having before. As for playing the game in Parnell Park; absolutely not.

Ahh happy new year my old friend. How's she cutting?
All slagging aside, if Kildare want to remain in division 1 then yes they need to win their home games
