Now that the mickey mouse tournaments are finsihing up , the real stuff is beginning again. This is I think a massive game not just for Kildare but for the rest of Leinster too. The Dubs have been on a holiday for the last couple of weeks while Kildare have been slogging it out for the last 8 weeks. If we go up to dublin and take a bad beating I think it could really effect us. If the second best team in Leinster cant put it up to half fit dublin team then there is no hope. That being said we have a good team in kildare that is improving all the time and looking forward most people are positive but next saturday v dublin is massive. Nervously looking forward to it.. 11jm11 (Kildare) - Posts: 365 - 20/01/2018 09:06:03 2069404 Link 3 |
Am looking forward to it aswell.Would do away with those Mickey mouse tournaments if it was up to me. Kildare have a good side and will no doubt be well ahead in terms of preparation. I think Dublin will coast a bit in the league this year and hope to get into the final shake up. Kildare have a great chance to catch us cold if they have been working as hard as you say in the run up to this game. Dubh_linn (Dublin) - Posts: 2312 - 20/01/2018 09:43:07 2069411 Link 1 |
Kildare will be well up for this and i think it will be close hopefully anyway, leinster needs a good kildare team. mightydubs (Dublin) - Posts: 48 - 20/01/2018 10:26:52 2069416 Link 1 |
Looking forward to it as well, Dublin Vs Kildare was one of the most enjoyable games of football for me last year. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4445 - 20/01/2018 10:28:37 2069417 Link 0 |
Dublin where doing a good bit of warm qeather training in south Africa and are in decent shape. I expect them to go very strong against kildare similar to Cavan last year when everyone expected a bit of an experimental side but barring niall scully it was pretty strong .. waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13650 - 20/01/2018 11:18:04 2069422 Link 2 |
Kildare look to be strong but I still give them another few months till they can get around to beating Dublin. oakleafersir (Derry) - Posts: 808 - 20/01/2018 13:06:39 2069440 Link 0 |

Dublin to win by 10, a professional team will almost always beat an ameture team. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 20/01/2018 14:12:39 2069456 Link 1 |
Dublin by 9 in second gear , then the media to get hard and praise how great Kildare are. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 20/01/2018 14:26:57 2069462 Link 0 |

Didnt realise it was a training camp dublin were on, I thought it was a holiday.. Dubs arguably aheaf of us in preparation in that case. 11jm11 (Kildare) - Posts: 365 - 20/01/2018 16:02:24 2069474 Link 0 |
I'm just can't wait for the season to get started, it will definitely give us an idea on where Kildare are in terms of competing with Dublin in Leinster. Only one more week now! Hill16Army (Dublin) - Posts: 88 - 20/01/2018 16:29:22 2069478 Link 0 |
it was a mix of both.. it was a team holiday. but a bit of training was done aswell in the warm climate

All the advantages lie with Kildare in terms of prep. jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20600 - 20/01/2018 17:42:32 2069484 Link 1 |
Not at all we accepted we got hammered, pity the media don't do same to other counties.

Whatever the result is it will have as much bearing as our league game with Tyrone last year. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8591 - 20/01/2018 22:20:17 2069542 Link 1 |
Well to be fair we were only in second gear ourselves in our league opener this time last year. Remember what happened that night? 15pt romp home in Navan! Up with the big boys now though:)

Dublin might be a little bit cold with so many players missing pre season. ziggy320001 (Meath) - Posts: 2432 - 21/01/2018 09:57:36 2069588 Link 2 |

Interesting game this one, kildares record against Dublin in last 4 or 5 years has been poor but there's no doubt Kildare are finally starting to catch them, hard game to call if Dublin arnt match fit then Kildare can beat them, which would be a big result for Kildare to finally get one over on the dubs, Kildare by one, I've a fealing I'm going to get slaughtered for that prediction from some of fellow county posters Royal.Legend (Meath) - Posts: 665 - 21/01/2018 13:36:23 2069651 Link 2 |
