Poor result again today. All about staying up now rather than anything else

Westmeath are going well. Big win for Carlow away to Kerry today.

You'd have to fancy Carlow to win the rest of their games. It'll be very tight as on paper everyone bar London can beat eachother

It was back to harsh reality for Offaly on Sunday however I don't think the final score is a fair reflection on the game itself. We worked tremendously hard but ultimately couldn't make it count on the scoreboard with six wides in the first half including a penalty. If we had to convert those chances it could've went differently. Ok the whole second half we were at sea and when Dermot Shortt got sent off it was long over as a contest. It doesn't get any easier with Galway to come next in Salthill.

Probably Johnny Pilkington.

How many Galwegians were in action?

I think he may be referring to the Mayo full back who plays with Killimordaly. Just the one in action.

How do we see this weekend's game going? Waterford v Kilkenny is a massive one for both teams with the loser staring down the barrell of relegation. Kilkenny have been unlucky so far and Waterford looking disinterested but I think we'll see a different Deise on Sunday. Tipperary and Wexford should show an added bit of spice after the league semi final last year and Clare and Cork as well.

Good result for Longford yesterday keeper, nice to win some silverware. I see a P Barden lined out at wing forward. Would that be Paul Barden the ex footballer?

Yeah thanks, great to win but we made hard work of it! It's a different Paul Barden, although they are cousins.

Cody has made seven changes to the starting 15 for Sunday. A sign of desperation?

Well done the Cats today. What's going on with Waterford? They should be finding some form by now & they'd a strong team out.

Did Derry have the Slaughtneil lads back playing for them today? I'd noticed they'd taken some heavy beatings in 2B so far, but from the result at least, it looks like they were at least more competitive against Mayo today, if still shipping another loss.

2A is looking really tight, super competitive (and actually alot more meaningful than 1A or 1B, as only the top 2 get rewarded). Important win for Westmeath last night, they're looking good for the final. And a big win for Kerry today, the Kerry v Meath match will be a telling one next week, and could set up a crazy last round in that division, with the winner of that game vying for 2nd place with Carlow.

Slaughtneil are playing All-Ireland football semifinal next weekend so most won't go back to the county til after that. Keith Higgins scored 4 points for Mayo.

Good question. Waterford may be saving it for the Championship and testing some young talent. Not sure who lined out for them in these last few matches. They're still a loaded team and it's still only February so they have time to right the ship.

I'd say Waterford don't give 2 hoots if they get relegated (and they are right not to). Having said that, I thought the sight of the black and amber might jizz them up enough to try hard in this game. But when you have the 5 Munster teams playing each other in the championship "league" in less than 3 months time there's little reason for any of the Munster teams in 1A to be going full throttle right now.

They had a pretty strong team out on Sunday.
