Game off. It's a pity but it's understandable

Is there a point in even playing it now? It's a pre season tournament and it's in the way of the league now.

Should have been postponed until after the league. 16/17 Feb was supposed to be a rest week for our players. Now we have games non stop for 6 weeks.

Why bother play it? The focus on the league now, this is only a pointless distraction. Nobody will care once the league starts.

Yes, it could be played in the lull period between league and championship.

Will common sense prevail in the venue for the refixture now that tv scheduling won't dictate

I wouldn't mind having a game to look forward to between league and championship.

You can't just abandon the competition at the final stage. It will be played on the 17/18 February same weekend as the McKenna Cup and Connacht league finals. It now means Meath will be playing eight weeks in a row and nine if we make the league final.

Hopefully we play a different 15/20

Players will need that break

My feelings exactly, and sure what if we don't fulfil the fixture? What actually happens?

If it's a case of a serious fine or thrown out of the championship then ok, play the 3rd team or u20, but if it's just a case of 'ah now come on Meath, sure yiz have to play it' then.....naaaah.

That's a bummer that the matches were called off. I was looking forward to watching them on TV. But common sense prevailed. It is a dirty day out there.

A bit surprised to see a large pool of water in one part/ corner of Portlaoise pitch- the Navan pitch would have been playable and surprised that it was not switched there and the journey would have been easier for Westmeath.
