Good game last night and good to see many new faces. Clarke had to give players a run but thought Dub subs disjointed any pattern of play late on but again great to see so many faces.

A game of two halfs and fair play to both panels considering the conditions

Fair play to Offaly and imo they should have probably won it.

A decent start for both teams. Dubs now travel to Wexford and I've no doubt that game last night will be a good run out for that panel.

Can Dublin qualify seeing as Offaly slaughtered Wexford.
Going to Wexford for the w/end.
First away fixture of 2018.
Dubs on tour.

Have to win by 16+ pts to qualify for semi final

Hopefully they just get the win. I don't see a 16 point win but who knows..

Pity as it would have been good to give more game time to this current panel

Although we have a good idea who could make a mark

Byrne, Basquel, Howard, O'Gara, and still think O'Congaihle has it in him and hopefully Paddy Small could feature yet in a blue jersey

Hopefully see those boys getting plenty of league game time with McHugh, Costello also in the mix..

Anyone else in the mix?

If I'm totally honest, I have little interest in these competitions and while I would keep an eye on results I would scrap the lot of them and start with the league in February.

I think Cillian O Shea may get a look in the league and Murchan has the look of young Jonny Cooper to me if he can fill out, he is lightening quick and can break lines.

While they probably didnt get the headlines at the time the U21 defense was brilliant last year and those two stood out for me.

I reckon O'Gara will feature a few times in the league along with Howard. Scully made a breakthrough lastyear, and he is just one player but there is no reason to think that only one will make it.

I rarely bother with O'Byrne cup so I wasn't at either game. What's the story with Howard named at corner-back, I thought he was a mid-fielder/half-forward, whats the plan there do you think?

Good to see Paddy Small involved looks like he clocked a few point as well.

Ground conditions as always in St Patricks park were shocking. No lines painted on the pitch even so referees guessing where the 21 line was for example. Saw at least two people slip on the mucky verges including an old lady god love her, This is the third year in a row weve been down there and I don't understand the logic behind playing an intercounty game at this venue. I just don't understand why it wasn't in Wexford park, Or at least in a better club ground in Wexford with better facilities.

A bad wind wouldn't have helped things but that was an insipid display yesterday from Dublin's young guns. Nobody apart from maybe Colm Basquel and that's at a push stood out. Not that its overly important the OB cup is a load of nonsense anyways but having said that the players yesterday showed very little and its almost as if none of them played thinking a place in the league panel is up for grabs like Scully did last year and a few others.

Very slack marking and allowed Wexford the freedom of the park. No intensity in the tackle. I know its very early days and its not so important, But compared to last years OB cup campaign it was chalk and cheese in comparison but roll on the return of the league ...

God no. Not him.. He's only a bluffer. Liam Hayes said so last year after the Carlow game and Liam knows everything...
