Team to play Louth

1 Aaron O' Neill
2 Mikey Kelly
3 Mick O' Grady
4 Eoin Powderly
5 Daniel Courtney
6 Johnny Byrne
7 Kevin Flynn
8 Kevin Feely
9 Luke Flynn
10 Fergal Conway
11 David Slattery
12 Mark Sherry
13 Brian McLaughlin
14 Chris Healy
15 Cathal McNally

Good to see some new young faces in the squad for this. Hopefully two decent challenges against Louth tomorrow and Longford at the weekend. Seem to be a bit top heavy on attacking players with Lyon's and Bolton gone.

Looking forward to seeing what Brian McLaughlin and Aaron O'Neill can do especially. Two very talented young players.

Haven't seen a lot of Luke Flynn at midfield to be honest, and with Moolick, Dowling, Dan Flynn and Paul Cribbin all capable of playing there beside Feely I'd be (very pleasantly) surprised if he was still there come the league. Hopefully he gets a shot at fullback too over the next few weeks.

Anybody hear how the recent challenge games went?

Yeah, plenty of new faces. Think only 6 from last competitive game on starting 15. Would like to unearth a few more decent defenders. Hear that Mikey Kelly is tigerish so looking forward to seeing him play. No news on the challenge matches.

Very poor performance on Wednesday night. Louth looked like they had a few more weeks training done and were alot more sharper. To only kick 2 points in the second half was very disappointing. On a positive note, its only January and there is plenty of room for improvement, the Dubs in 3 weeks will be a huge test so early in the year.

Very poor game but wouldnt be too worried about it. A lit of new and inexperienced players started including 18yr old goalkeeper. Add to that, 9 substitutions on each team.
If O'Neill wants to progress will have to beat Longford by 11. So we could see Cribbin, Doyle, Brophy, Flynn,Kelly and Hyland being played. Even at that its asking a lot.

That was more of a training exercise than anything else. Would think there was even more substitutions than the louth game. Didn't even look interested in winning the game. Next game will be the real indicator. Hope Jimmy Hyland injury not too bad.
