Paddy Tally to Galway

(Oldest Posts First)

Great appointment by the Galway footballers. All-Ireland winning trainer with an impressive coaching CV. Is he the man to take the Tribesmen to the next level?

Simple answer is no. Galway never have and never will lower themselves to playin defensive puke ulster style football.

Apart from last year when they had a defensive set up from the start?

Do you think Kildare would ever take on an Ulster manager and play that 'type' of football?

One of the those common fallacies in gaa that Galway only play nice football. Same down in Kerry where the locals only believe in other counties playing defensive football or being dirty if they are beating Kerry. When Kerry do it they are saving football.

He will have his hands full trying to keep Galway in division 1 anyway. Galway will probably be missing the Corofin players for the league and Gary O'Donnell, Fiontain O'Curraoin, Danny Cummins and Michael Daly are all out recovering from injury and will miss most of the league campaign.

Just because you were good over a decade ago doesn't mean you still have it. Jury's out.

This thread is about Galway not Kerry, maybe if ye worried about yer own team in mayo instead of ours in Kerry ye might win something.

To be fair I think this dude was referring to Paddy Tally being good a decade ago, not Galway.

Why are they bringing him in then? Walsh obviously knows Galway struggle defensively.

Correct! Seeing as the thread was primarily about P Tally ... Tyrone getting worse every year and no fresh thinking in sight. Maybe we cd have him back, he could hardly be any worse

We don't care about your team until we are facing them. I'm using Kerry as an example, both you and Galway are lauded for not playing puke football when the truth is both counties are well able to lower themselves into the mire. So don't get the old briefs in a twist.
