Underage Football 2018

Draws for 17's and 20's made. Big changes with a group format. Tough draws with Kildare in the 20's and Dubs in the 17's. Also interesting to see that the 20's in now in May/June. This must surely rule under 20's out of senior duty. Not that any of our 20's would be ready for senior yet but just a big change as last year that would have meant no Jones, Conlon or O'Reilly.

yes seen this, hard draws but hopefully we can build on the last few years. yes thats one of the rules with the new changes no senior panelists allowed play county under 20. mightnt mean a whole lot to us next year but the likes of david clifford probably wont be available for the kerry under 20s

http://leinstergaa.ie/competitions/leinster-u-17-special-football-2017/. Yeah it is top 2. If we go through top it is straight to a semi-final.

After seeing an article about a lad just out of minor called Callum Brown who was named to play for Derry but was told he is ineligible as he is too young. And apparently 00's are ineligible for under 20's so none of the 17's winners last year can play for our 20's. I was under the impression a few were training so hopefully the article is wrong

I would imagine that under 17's last year ( this years under 18's ) are eligible to play under 20 as there is no other county grade for them . A few of them might be in the running but there are a couple of minor panels ahead of them for selection and these players should have more time to develop with their clubs along with leaving Cert for a lot of them .

Leitrim do you know how the club 16/17 will run this year and the Under 19 club also ?

No idea on how the club system will work at underage. All I know is that minor at club is down to under 17, so presume it's 13's, 15's, 17's champo instead of 14,16,18. The article did say how the rule prevented 00's playing any county so maybe it will be changed. I was really just thinking Shane Walsh and Jordan Morris for the 20's but maybe you are right and they'll focus on the LC
