New County Chairperson

(Oldest Posts First)

With our present chairman stepping down, there are a lot of names being talked about as a successor.
Mary Coughlan, Aodh Martin O Feargaigh, Cieran Kelly, Frankie Doherty.
What are peoples views on who is best for the job.
My own preference would be Aodh Martin, as he was brilliant as secretary.

Would fully agree with Aodh O'Fearraigh as being the best man for the job and would be a popular choice. I hear Mary Coughlan is also standing. She'd bring fresh ideas which would be good.

Hi donegaldouble: as long as it doesn't end up being a calamity.

I'm not sure about Mary Coughlan. I could be completely wrong but I'd prefer not to have her as chairperson.

Aodh Mairtin is on two committees in Croke park not sure if he'd give up the fast lane there to come to Donegals rescue, because thats the way its heading with the names in for the chair a disaster!

Hi donegaldouble, looks like you are getting your wish, MC withdrawing her name for position of Chairperson. Great news indeed.

I see that. Does anybody know if Aodh Martin is actually going for it? I would genuinely love to see him get it.
If he is it will prob be between him and Mick Mc Grath.

I suppose its me beng a bit sceptical but its strange the way its panning out McGrath in the chair and O.Cannon looking for the coaching officers post, both of them were part of Bonners backroom team, looks like lining his ducks up in a row with the county exec, but as I said it might just be me seeing it that way!

It does look that way a bit alright. Can't see Oisin getting in ahead of Conor Mc dermott though.
