Crokes should win this by 15-20 points. Crokes second team would prob beat nemo. Hopefully referee will be looking for out crokes cynical play. Referee ignored a lot of this in club final last year.

Bart
Tipperary and Kerry pulled out of the McGrath cup for 2018 so ye'l have a great chance now to win a trophy next year :-)

KingdomBoy Cork are still fearful of Waterford from the beating they got a few years ago.

Once upon a time Nemo would be favourites for this but not any more.

Haven't seen Nemo in years, but you'd live long before you'd forget Colin Corkery. What a player he was. He looked like he should be a bit ponderous, but he was agile, quick enough in a sprint and once he got the ball he was close to un-markable and his kicking skills, from play or dead ball, were off the scale. Imagine having to mark him. Nightmare. If he was on today, there'd only be one team winning the AI club.

You're right there. The most successful club side ever but nowhere near those heights now. Shows how bad Cork football is that they're still winning championships fairly regularly.

However, there are normally good club sides throughout the Munster championship so I'm surprised at the ease both teams progressed to this final. I would say Nemo will be competitive for half hour and then Crokes will pull away. This thought comes from the way Nemo blew Finbarrs away for 40 min of both finals, only to capitulate in the last 15 to 20 min.

In this instance, only the top class 40 min performance for a full 60 min will even keep this score line some way close.

Mark Luke Connolly and you effectively kill Nemo's threat. Barry O'Driscoll does OK in a support act and Ciarán Dalton is talented. Kerrigan is hit and miss these days. Mostly miss for him. They took him off in the county semi final. He didn't like it one bit. Perhaps he realised he is not the main man any more. Fine player when at his best but time catches up on everyone.

Frederick, I think whilst you rightly point out that a sweeper would limit Corkery's effectiveness nowadays, I don't think he would ever have been marked out of it.

A player like Corkery is a nightmare to mark sweeper or not. He was a very good fielder of a high ball and exceptionally strong with two very good feet, and his free taking wouldn't be effected by a sweeper.

I do think the comment about him ensuring Nemo would win an All Ireland is fanciful but you can't deny that as a player, he was superb and probably one of the most talented footballers not to win a county senior All Ireland.

Easy win for Nemo. They could have had 5 or 6 goals.
Hopefully they will get sterner tests as the competition progresses.
Kerry champions were not very competitive...looked out of their depth for most of the game.

Good win for Nemo. Kept in touch with Radio commentary. They dominated the game. Very open club championship now, with Croke and Vincent's out.

well, maybe, but once Corkery had the ball in hand, two things happened: (i) he was massive and you wouldn't dispossess him and (ii) inside 40 yards, it was going over.

indeed. lousy refereeing. hopefully, this year's title will be decided by the players. great win by Nemo (and I'm sure your 20 points comment was partly for public consumption ;)
