What has that to do with the new talent search for 2018? maybe you should start a new thread called the search for the lost medals?

Is Keenan from St Barrys on panel? tpos (Kildare) - Posts: 4 - 29/12/2017 19:58:35 2066185 Link 0 |
Cian Connolly is gone which is unfortunate we will never forget his goal in the connacht final Tarismelting22 (Roscommon) - Posts: 760 - 03/01/2018 09:54:01 2066569 Link 0 |
I don't see Thomas Corcoran of Strokestown on the panel of 45.Is he still injured or what's the story there. endgame (Roscommon) - Posts: 2154 - 05/01/2018 15:56:13 2066975 Link 0 |
Disappointed to see he is not there, great underage but has yet to realise that talent at Senior level for Strokestown or Ros I think..Cathal Shine and Donie Shine for me are two that should be there..that aside looking at the squad and it looks lot stronger than last year..so hopefully team can gel together as a unit and fulfill potential

Does anyone know why Andy Glennon isn't on the FDB panel? Looked an outstanding prospect for Glaveys, very talented. Has all the qualities to be a county footballer. imformed (Roscommon) - Posts: 163 - 06/01/2018 19:59:42 2067132 Link 0 |
I think Andrew Glennon won't commit to the county. That was also the case last year. It's a real pity.Hope he changes his mind if he's reading this.

He is not on the FBD panel because having him on it at the minute would be a complete joke and serious lack of respect to his club who are preparing to play an All Ireland Semi final in 13 days time. Whether he is asked or chooses to join the panel once his club is finished remains to be seen Cuckoosinging (Roscommon) - Posts: 992 - 08/01/2018 08:45:40 2067273 Link 0 |
Best of luck of course to Glaveys but Andrew Glennon did opt out of the county panel last year.Hope he's available to the county this year when the club championship concludes.

Watching him with Glaveys he looks an exceptional talent and a serious candidate for N 14 on county team....hope he can make himself available in February .. michael (Cork) - Posts: 381 - 08/01/2018 14:24:20 2067349 Link 0 |
If that's the case then why is Conor Hussey and Gary Patterson of Glaveys named on the 45 man Roscommon panel? Glennon is the type of full forward that McStay needs. D Murtagh,C Cregg,Cathal Compton among others will tried at full forward now and none of them are suited to that role. Work wise or whatever reason Glennon can't commit then its best to move on and work with what you got.

Any word from the Ros v NUIG game played recently. moros (Roscommon) - Posts: 1077 - 08/01/2018 17:58:46 2067379 Link 0 |
The last page of posts on this thread has little or nothing to do with the topic in question. ispeakwisdom (Roscommon) - Posts: 2487 - 08/01/2018 18:43:32 2067389 Link 0 |
NUIG won with Damien Comer in superb form. A experimental Roscommon defence conceded a glut of goals, at the other end of the field we did fine as we scored a score that would be enough to win most games.

It's because they are members of last year's squad and hadn't pulled out..Glennon was not available last year.....I presume management is waiting for Glaveys to finish their All Ireland run before inviting him or others. Agreed, he looks a class full forward.

Comer showed fine form against a experimental defence with 5 of the 7 new to panel and no sweeper used he will have sweepers and be doubled up in division 1 I'll be intrigued watch him at the top level in 5 or 6 games to see how he and his team handle the special attention His a superb talent with a questionable temper. I see Mark Nally of Roscommon Gaels has declared for Longford.I wonder is that a loss for us.I remember he made an impact for Roscommon in the one point loss to Mayo in the Connacht championship in 2014. endgame (Roscommon) - Posts: 2154 - 12/01/2018 19:15:06 2068017 Link 0 |
Don't think so personally and best of luck to him with Longford but I don't think he's better than anything we have on panel already. Was taken off just after half time in county final too so isn't exactly ripping it up at club level
