Funding on the Verge of being withdrawn for Centre

(Oldest Posts First)

What does everyone make of the funding been on the verge of been withdrawn by the American donors due to lack of progress.

I think the co board are right to wait until they are in a steady financial position but can we offered to lose the money from america

Connacht GAA are the ones holding things up if they had a say in it we would be left with the old boggy Hyde park pitch. American donors are right to be frustrated the money was collected in May 2016 and phase 1 should have started by now, hopefully making this news public will now kick start this project.

Just wondering how are the Connacht Council holding things up?
Also if the narrative that the county board are trying to get into a financially stable position before commencing work on the new facility then I would prefer to see the money returned to the donors and build a more sustainable model in the long-term. It's the rushing into 'building one project while not having paid off the other' way of thinking that had us put in recession

Hardly rushing into a project that should have been done years ago. What other project isn't paid off? the Hyde park pitch was mostly paid for by Croke Park. Connacht GAA always try to hold things up especially when its not a Mayo project.
