Replying To MuckrossHead:  "If that is true then I hope the Co Board stay well away from any celebrations Kilcar might be enjoying before the end of the year.
If this was St Eunans you may be sure they would have been looked after & rightly so.
One rule for the big boys....."
Funny I asked both clubs officers over the weekend what the ccc said and both denied any threat was sent to them, the CCC told both clubs the fixture date stood and no changes . Some idiot started that rumour !!! with a capital I

If a club does not field the game is awarded. I wonder did Kilcar give the CCC the required notice, just look at the rule on championship games notice, its a big penalty for Kilcar if they only pulled out the morning of the game. Now if Donegal CCC want to keep credibility they will apply the penalty, however I don't think they will have the balls to take on the new "Wee Club" I remember when Glenswilly was the wee club suddenly now its Kilcar.

Good display from Kilcar and could have won the game, but going forward don't think they have the panel to even win Donegal championship next year. Gweedore have the panel of young players to even go and win Ulster in the next year or two , but will they give the commitment and put in the hard work needed to win the big games , if they took it as serious as say Kilcar they will be hard to beat in the next few years

First of all I want to say congrats to Kilcar i think they represented our county very well and on another day i think they would win that game with ease they had a lot of good goal chances that if taken or even points taken then it would be a different game. I feel Kilcar have big problem of starting slow they done it against Bundoran, Scotstown and again at the weekend. If your to do well in ulster i fell you have to be out of the traps early. just one point on Slaughtneils second goal I don't think it should ever have counted he through it in the net instead of slapping it in im glad it had no real bearing.

As for the statement that Kilcar will struggle to win Donegal i strongly disagree I think personally that Kilcar are way out ahead of everyone with Us and Eunans battling for that second best team and then Gweedore.

I don't think there was ever any chance that Kilcar would have won that game with ease. The injury to Ciaran McGinley was the turning point in the game as we were a point ahead when he got hurt & struggled physically in the middle from there on in.

I was sitting beside a Slaughtneil follower at the game & he was telling me that they reckon they are better than they were last year & are going for the title big time..They were the best club team Kilcar have ever met by a distance, the movement, fitness, teamwork & composure were hugely impressive. The fact that they had only 2 wides in the whole game bears testimony to where they are.

My hope would be that Kilcar will kick on from 2017. Winning the Co. championship was a monkey off their back & in 2018 they will be a year older & the experience of 2017 tells them that they are not far off the mark in Ulster terms.

A lot will depend on whether Conor McShane & Michael Hegarty go again, they are invaluable, if they do I would anticipate a good 2018.

Replying To dllover:  "It is funny the way I read the statement made by him on behalf of the CCC reads about right, Kilcar are shouting about how they will play without County Players next year, they had a full squad and still would not play u21 what a Joke. Get off the moral high ground, I see you don't follow much Donegal Club and Ulster Club since 2010 Donegal teams have competed in almost every Ulster Semi Final. Milford played with 8 players in semi final of u21 and won and only lost yesterday in Ulster by 1 point, they want to play football instead of moaning. Kilcar knew they would not beat Gaoth Dobhair so took the easy option did not field and blame the CCC. The CCC have awarded games every time a club did not play this year and could do nothing else but award the game to GD, those of us still involved know the problems in Club football and funny enough its guys from the sideline mouthing about stuff they know nothing about that causes half the problems."
and what do u know about my knowledge of Donegal club football since 2010? I freely admit here that my knowledge of the club scene would not be as good as some but I have been attending Donegal club games basically all of my life. Less so in recent years because of logistics but generally always get to a game or 2 anytime I get back up which is pretty regular.

Gweedore won u 21 today fairly easy but just like their senior team against Glenties thought they had it won at halftime and went to sleep for a long period in second half, if they would play attacking football for full game they are capable of going places.
