Andy knows what he is doing and has a good backroom team. Certain players were given a test after the club season, the o was finished the latest.
That's a good thing because mentally you need that break too. Think they are all back now."
Rest instead of test btw

Yes........but i dont think any person would take info. on here as official. In fact a pinch of salt is nearly essential , Again all part and parcel of forums.

Is David Gallagher in with meath as a sub goalkeeper?
I also heard a rumour James Toher quit the fottball panel. any truth in this?

If he is in I'd pick him ahead of joe. Think Adam McDermott started recent challenge games.

Any ideas of who the new players in are at this stage. O Byrne cup starts in 3 weeks today if not mistaken and we still haven't received any type of a squad yet.

Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors, how HARD/SMART the players are working.. I'm sure the team doctor and physios know enough about injuries and what cause them but maybe they should host an open session where the invite hoganstand posters to help them figure out how to prevent them from happening.. Colmenting on attendances ya training.. all this is through the grapevine and being spread from a few story tellers and nay sayers on this only damages the reputation of the team you all claim to support. 70% of the people posting negatively on this want to see Meath fail just so they have something to give out about. Leave the lads at it, support your county and don't comment on things your not qualified/in a position to comment on."
To suggest when it comes to training, in particular, that Andy doesn't know what he is doing or is flogging the players so much they aren't showing up is laughable. All of his teams are always physically in excellent shape. He'll have them in good physical condition.
Tactically and in game preparation I think he got a rude awakening last year, in my opinion. Hopefully he and his management team will have learned from that.
Also, I've no problem with Gally being called back in. The problem is Joe potentially being the #1 for the year. From the brief glimpses we saw last year he's miles off being a serviceable intercounty goalkeeper. I feel for him as he's been a great servant to Meath.

Why do I keep reading on this board people saying the negative commenters want Meath to fail. Also gets thrown around casually to stay at home. The only people who want Meath to fail are Dubs, Louth Kildare etc. I can assure you regardless of whether you post negatively or positively all Meath posters want Meath to succeed.
But if some of us are pessimistic that doesn't make us less of a fan. Were basing our opinions on nearly two decades of at best mediocrity and often embarrassment.
This latest farce of drafting in an aging goalkeeper who was a disaster against Laois as far back as 2012 wont do much to make us feel more positive.
Many Meath fans sounding like Brexiters. Dont talk Meath down and lets be positive for the sake of it. I'll be positive when I'm given reason to be.

Was very impressed with young McDermott when he was with the Minors, Joe is heading off for a while in January, David Gallagher is literally a very safe pair of hands, many keepers have ruled themselves out, others have had opportunities and have been deemed not good enough, the issue is with distribution, big clammer for this keeper or that keeper being a great shot stopper, shot stopping now a small part of it, distribution from the hand and the ground is the key skill of the modern keeper.

See Joe Sheridan has stepped aside as per report in the Chronicle citing work and his girlfriend working abroad.

He'll be a big loss even just his presence in the dressing room. Where to now with the goalkeeper situation? No Joe or Paddy o Rourke for 2018..

it will be hard for mcentee to field a decent team with the amount of players who have left.
not suprising though why players have left. they will do well to beat longford and then hammered by the dubs.
I heard harry rooney is back though and few new wolfe tones players who were excellent this year.

Great chance for new blood to come in and secure a place in team.

If all the players Meath have pulling out serious questions surely must be asked about the manager?

When players were leaving panel under previous manager yer forum was full lads slating manager left right and centre some reason McEntee even with a disasterous year last year is excempt from blame
