Great club. Let me state that clearly. They will never win an All Ireland in Hurling. That's just never going to happen and that's mostly because they are a dual club. No proper dual club has won the hurling since St Finbarrs in tge 70s. I dont count Cuala as dual. bloodyban (Limerick) - Posts: 1710 - 03/11/2017 18:29:45 2060209 Link 0 |
You don't count Cuala , senior championship team four adult football team in Div one four seven and ten , god I hope they never take it serious so we may all give up

Like the confidence, but we'll have to see about that!! Whoever wins will have damn well earned it

Looking forward to it doire. I think it will be a great game, not necessarily free flowing, but great all the same.

See that hurling team Cuala got two players on the football all stars team last night

Slaughtneil gonna be very hard to knock off their stride. They're building up a nice head of steam and confidence is sky high at the moment. The tough challenges they've faced to reach the Ulster football final, coupled with the momentum within the club from the hurling and camogie successes will only push us on rather than player burnout hindering us I think! Good luck to ye doire. Slaughtneil were by far the best team Kilcar have ever played & I really hope ye go all the way. It was a great game & Kilcar will learn from the experience. That extra bit of composure which saw Slaughtneill score two goals from two chances while Kilcar scored none from four was the difference is a great game that was played in a great spirit. They are the kingpins within Ulster now but sadly that's NO recommendation. Ulster football and hurling at club and county level is currently mince and that is shown up whenever teams compete outside the province. Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9697 - 12/11/2017 01:54:29 2061766 Link 0 |
Catch a grip man. Slaughtneill beat a super club in the football semi final last year. Came within a kick of the ball of winning the all ireland. In hurling produced a gallant effort against the All Ireland champions, losing by 1 point more than those beaten in the final. Tyrone would wipe the floor with any side outside of Dublin, mayo or Kerry but I would still fancy them to beat Mayo and Kerry.

Ulsterman, you have posted some rubbish in your long time on here, but, even by your lamentable standards, that post is brutal.

Wholeheartedly agree. Great competitive game. I thought the game was tighter than the scoreboard suggested. Ulsterman's assessment is rubbish! Smacks a bit of jealousy to be honest

The Slaughtneil centre-half back and full-back are top-class; they should be considered for All-Stars next yr befair (Down) - Posts: 237 - 13/11/2017 02:08:34 2061980 Link 1 |
I'd imagine Slaighneil will have too much for Cavan Gaels although Gaels ran them tight a few years ago. doratheexplorer (Cavan) - Posts: 1467 - 19/11/2017 20:15:46 2063034 Link 0 |
Tough one for Derrygonnelly to lose so narrowly at the very end. If the final is v close, Slaughtneil will have a small bit more energy in the last ten minutes, and that can make a difference. But you'd expect them to be well in front at half time. essmac (Tyrone) - Posts: 1141 - 20/11/2017 09:29:10 2063061 Link 0 |
