If this was really to be taken seriously they wouldnt have Joe Kernan over the team. End of.

Has it run it's course. The appetite among the top players to get involved seems to be weaning. Can't blame them really as it's got to be well down the list of priorities."
I think interest in series has waned given the apathy from some players. Those who have opted out due to club duty are right to do so. If the Gaa scrapped the series and invested in a rejuvenated Railway cup it could be a great success even without club tied players. Gaelic games are a far better spectacle than the compromise rules.

It's a pity he wasn't over Westmeath at some stage. Joe Kernan has been more successful than any Westmeath player or manager.

The competition has little relevance and does nothing to promote our games - complete waste of money.

I can see why the players enjoy it, especially the trip down under. It's also the only chance most will ever have to represent their country.
You could argue I suppose that the money involved in sending 50 people to Australia for 3 weeks could be better spent at home.

The sport itself isn't great if you ask me. 6 weeks isn't enough time for players to get used to and start playing a hybrid game well. As a result we get a lot of stop-start action. Some of the physical "challenges" over the years have been downright dangerous as well.

I probably will still keep an eye out for the match, but it's not something I'll be setting the alarm clock for either.

It's like the Lions for me. Interested to see who's selected but no interest in watching it.

Does big Joe not like the East of the country.....No Derry Antrim Down Louth Meath Westmeath Dublin Carlow Killkenny Wicklow Wexford or Waterford players ...

It's not the biggest or best Irish squad but still some fine players

I think Sean Murphy and Brendan Murphy from Carlow would have been a good addition as would Colm Begley from Laois all familiar with the 3 games!

Paidi might have a case here as a manager, not bad as a player either.

Dubs must be tired having had a long summer of very intense games , not to mention they can't be seen playing alongside amateurs on the world stage.

The Compromise rules should be scrapped, The money used from sponsors etc should be pumped into rejuvenating the Railway cup and the winners of Railway cup could represent Ireland in a competition against an American, British, Australian & Asian select world series. This would give Gaelic Games a truly international dimension.

Went to see it once in Croke Park and would never go to see it again.

But Shinty international was on before it same day in Croker and I could well recommend it.
