Derry League 2018

With McErlain taking us now I can see us taking the top of the table and advancing to Division 2. We have 3 Home Matches against Westmeath, Offaly and Wexford and Playing Longford, Fermanagh, Armagh and Sligo away. Two Saturday Flood-Light matches against Fermanagh and Armagh which will interesting events. I can see a few new young lads coming to the panel, which is good for us. Maybe a few who left might come back hopefully. It is a tough enough division but I can see us getting promoted easily if we have the right mind set and the right game plan.

I have to say im an admirer of your optimism Oakleafsir but Armagh thought they would win Div 3 last year and got a reality check - there are a lot of Ifs and buts - i have had too many false dawns this past lock of years so i will be giving this a very cautious and tentative nod - Armagh and Fermanagh will also have big aspirations about promotion this season and we play both of them away - McErlaine hasnt managed an intercounty Senior team and thats a whole different animal - he will need a year or so to bed in - I personally think Armagh and Fermanagh under Rory G will be a bit more advanced than us - I Hope im wrong but we need to be patient with Damien and Gavin etc - Rome wasnt built in a day
