The storm turned into a damp squib here in Mayo and never reached the levels predicted. Seems the south got worst hit. Still that is no comfort to the three people killed (RIP).

Yeah herself was on the Whatsapp group with her family - the reports coming back from Westport and Galway seem like we were getting hit worse up in the hills of Antrim than they were as the late afternoon/evening was progressing. When they reporting very little wind and quite calm I was watching the roof tiles lifting off the house. But then again speaking to ones in work today here and they were going on like there was no wind/storm at all so I think it really was down to luck of the draw as to how bad you got hit.

the neighbours aerial blew off and hit my car. no dents. right as rain. other than that it was a nice cosy night in front of the fire in the Saff household. Hope you're all in the same boat.

My in laws were up from Cork for the weekend. The wife wouldn't let them had back to Cork on Sunday evening so we had a lovely couple of days with all the family together……

Seriously though a lot of damage done in the south with water and electricity out. Gladly for us on the east coast we escaped the worst of it and things weren't bad at all. Sad to here of the 3 unfortunate people who lost their lives. 2 of whom died in areas where the there was originally only an orange warning in place just shows the devastating power of nature.
