on Monday 31st July 2017 Fechins GAA (Louth) played Castleblayney Hurling (Monaghan) in an Ulster Tain Hurling league division 2 fixture. the referee reported the game as a 1 point victory for Fechins on a scoreline of 2.17-4.10. 2 months later the Ulster council have changed the scoreline to 2.16-4.11 in favor of Castleblayney Hurling. This result has made a massive impact on the final standings in the table, crowning Castleblayney Hurling club champions. Could the club that were originally in first place appeal this decision? Well given that St Fechins own website has the result in as 2-16 to 4-11 then I presume that this was the correct scoreline and they were beaten by 1 point in which case I doubt they would be thinking of appealing. Offside_Rule (Antrim) - Posts: 4058 - 04/10/2017 12:58:29 2052983 Link 0 |

I am yes, the original result was on Fechins website too. We have been shafted promotion and don't understand why the result has been changed 2 months later?

Provided the amended result was the correct result I don't think you've a leg to stand out regarding an appeal. Whammo86 (Antrim) - Posts: 4201 - 05/10/2017 17:32:00 2053400 Link 0 |
ask for the refs original report, and a copy of any amended report after that. uc appeals is a bolloix as the result is usually already agreed before hand after they've had their meeting, I think there's 8 people involved then appealants are invited in to discuss whatever and all has to be addressed through the chair and only the appealant and one other rep allowed to speak. It's like a flippin court setting. Don't think you'd get anywhere even if has took 2 months to put up the result as the refs report is with them with 24-48hrs,

I played in this match for St Fechins. At full time both sidelines had Castleblayney up by 1. I didn't know there was an appeal but it's not the first time there has been an issue with this ref. The club website is connected to Servasport and the results get updated automatically. fast_forward (Louth) - Posts: 45 - 06/10/2017 15:00:12 2053601 Link 1 |
So that pretty much puts it to bed. Offside_Rule (Antrim) - Posts: 4058 - 06/10/2017 15:19:23 2053607 Link 0 |
