Great attendance today as expected, great win for Dublin who played some good stuff and could've had 3 or 4 more goals there today. Hard luck again Mayo, gave everything out there as always.

Not being biased lads but some of Dublins play was fantastic, congrats girls on landing the big one, and alas, once again, hard luck Mayo.

The Ladies GAA finals are always a great occasion. The junior, intermediate and senior split obviously works very well in ladies' football; the lower divisions are contested just as fiercely, if at a lower standard. The same template also works well in club football, so why can't we make it work in senior mens football?

Unbelievable crowd today , how many other female sports would attract 47000 this year in Europe ?
I'd say if dublin and mayo met in an under 12 football match you'd get 20,000 at it at this stage

You are always banging on about Leinster football, Dublin have lost their last 3 finals, Wouldn't you like to see Dublin girls finally get over the line ?

Or does you anti Dublin, poor leinster, tripe only exist with the fellas ?"
The guy can shout for whoever he likes.Last time I checked it was a free country.

With all due respect, you can have the perfect structure in place but it's not worth a lot without great players.

No problem with anyone shouting/supporting who they wish/choose that's perfectly acceptable.
Where I have a problem is this poster continually posting for Dublin to be moved out of in his words " the pale " because his and other leinster counties cant get there own houses in order and compete with Dublin . Mayo have put it up to Dublin over the last 5-6 years with a smaller population than Meath and Kildare , sick of his constant whinging on here.

There are many great players in the lesser counties who will never get a chance to show their skills at Croke Park because of the current system

If you are referring to a 'B' competition then I am in agreement with you. Otherwise certain counties are probably never going to be successful and that's just a sad fact of life. Things haven't changed much in 133 or so years in that regard.

Replying To realdub:  "The ladies game has come a long way, some of the lead up play has been very impressive even if the execution isn't always top drawer, there's little or no hoofing and there's a purpose in everything they do, Good display of fitness too, hats off ladies.
I'll be expecting a knock on the door from the gender police at any minute."
Yeah I'm starting to enjoy ladies gaa more and more lately. The standard has improved so much. Fair play to the girls.

And that attendance of 48k I thibk was exceptional. Lidl definitely deserve a lot of credit for the great promotion of the championship.

Replying To PoolSturgeon:  "More luck to them...but isn't there a touch of rent a crowd about it? Half the crowd will be composed of screaming school kids getting in for free or brought there under a school package."
those kids are the future, same as in the mens game, kids get in on a group package which is available up to s/f stage and makes agreat day out for under age teams especially if a game or two can be arranged with the many Dublin teams only too happy to oblige visiting clubs and certainly make the young ones and mentors feel welcome with their hospitality certainly one of the better aspects of the gaa regardless of county alegiances and rivalries

Replying To Killarney.87:  "Great to see. Seen as the GAA is so motivated by money they should continue to build ladies football and camogie instead of gimmicks like the super 8s."
The CA and LGFA might not be happy with GAA interfering with the promotion of their games.

Great atmosphere and the sheer power of positivity from these young fans in the crowd was almost infectious. What an experience for these young kids supporting all six counties, they will take that back home to their own clubs. With ladies it is all about participation and involvement and the games will go from strenght to strenght - a huge crowd and a great achievement for women's sport in Ireland.

You do realise that all ladies football clubs across the country are obliged to buy a certain amount of all Ireland final tickets? Plus there were 6 teams playing, so 6 sets of supporters

Of course. There's no downside to this. A great turnout.

That was presumably also the case last year, and today's attendance smashed the previous record. Still a good thing IMO.

Congrats to Dublin, by far the better side today and deserving of their win. Hard luck to Mayo ladies, never stopped battling. Hopefully this isn't the note on which Cora goes out.

Are they not under the GAA umbrella?
