Dublin' Costello throwing away the kicking tees

Replying To Bon:  "I suppose the difference between this and Lee Keegan incident is that you'd only notice the GPS being tossed when footage is in slow motion or pointed out to you. Costello messed around with kicking tees right dead straight in front of two umpires who couldn't but have seen it.
Anyway its all over for another year, congrats to the dubs , deserving winners."
To be fair after Costello threw away what I think was the third tee from one of the posts - the umpire informed the ref but he decided to take no action. For a man that was only on the field 5 minutes Costello was lucky imo not to be sent off give his shenanigans.

I'd agree. Trying to gouge someone's eyes is worse than trying to distract someone taking a free.

The unsurprising thing about this unfortunately is the silence from the media, the Sunday Game, J Brolly, etc...it obviously does not fit the narrative re Dublin or JG.

Eye gouging 'action'. There was no eye gouging there, he held Colm's head down, his hand below his nose. Believe me Colm Boyle would not have reacted so placidly if O'Gara had gouged his eye.

Well done GnR for correctly standing up for O'Gara on this. It has been repeated so many times that it's almost accepted as fact that eye gouging took place which is complete nonsense.

Boyle must be the only person in the world whose eyes are under their nose.

Costello choked out 19 year old Brian o'beaglaoih from Kerry in last years allireland semifinal although the GAA did give Costello a one match ban for that.

I remember the outcry by some of the dubs posters on here after bjk knocked the ball off the tee against Donegal in 2014, they're not so noisy now.

The most annoying thing is Costello would have been told to do this. Very unsporting and yes it should be punished. It will make no difference anyway as he wont be playing for Dublin, (much).

There is nothing in what Costello did like there was nothing in what Keegan. The only person to have a case to answer regarding the match Is O'Gara.

Both Keegan and Costello were doing what was required to win the match, is it right for it to happen? No but it did. Can people stop trying to find fault with what someone did here or there, Lets remember it for two great team who played in a great match which will be remember for a long time as probably the best modern all ireland final

And you know he'd have been told to do this how? Gavin tell you himself?

Also why won't he be playing for Dublin? One of our most exciting prospects who has only been missing a lot this year due to injury. Again, have you inside knowledge?

O'Gara's definitely big enough to speak up for himself Soma!

It's like kids in a playground with some posters here. If we did something wrong we have to find a Dublin wrong to justify our wrong , or in many cases non-Dublin or non-Mayo posters will do so on our behalf, whether we want them to or not. The game is over, we lost, time to learn harsh lessons and move on.Lee threw the GPS at Dean Rock. Of course he broke the rules but it was desperation time. He hates losing. If he was at the banquet on Sunday night and said he thought about pegging the GPS at Rock and didn't do so his teammates would surely have asked him why not. For years we were said to be too nice to be serious contenders. I prefer us now trying some dark arts, but I'm biased. I think Joxer compared Lee to Mick Lyons? A serious compliment to pay any player who wants to dabble in the dark arts. Still hasn't won us the Sam Maguire though.

I think that the fact that Costello was trusted to come in (albeit briefly) with no game time this year shows how highly he's regarded.

If it wasn't for injury he would've played a lot of ball this year. If he stays injury free he'll have a big part to play next year. We all saw a glimpse of how good he could be in his cameo in last year's replay.

It happened in the 2014 minor semi-final. Donegal were up by a point in the last minute and one of their players took the Dublin goalkeeper's tee. Bit childish and not nice to see but it happens...

Oh seriously this is just embarrassing from the media yet again.
you cannot place tees on the pitch unless it's a kickout so how can removing it from the field be bad sportsmanship surely then leaving it out there is bad sportsmanship in the first place by the keeper a load of rubbish this is just brought up because it was a dublin player involved only reason to try find something to deflect from Keegan , kevin mcgloughlin constantly in games runs in after a score to stop quick kickouts by blocking the keepers or else kicking the ball off the tee and i never hear all year about this in media looking for bans, just another example of what I said earlier in the week the difference in the media toward a Dublin and mayo player where Mr Keegan gets praised for showing iniative Mr Costello must be banned haha

Are you Jim Gavin? I mean you know what Costello was told before he went on and that he won't be playing much for Dublin. ( next season I assume?)

As usual Greenandred you bring an element of reason to the party. Commendable under the circumstances and some on here would do well to take a lead from you.

What did O'Gara do? I'm convinced that most people commenting negatively on O'Gara either have not reviewed the footage or have no idea what an eye gouge is.
