Dean Rock not on the RTE TOTY

Replying To clondalkindub:  "When exactly was he brilliant?"
He was consistently the best forward on the pitch in every game he played this year with the exception of the Mayo game where Moran benefited from some very questionable defending. His movement, ball winning and conversion rates from play are the best in the business. He didn't shoot the lights out in any particular game but was consistently very good. His team underperformed but he can't be blamed for that.

What sets geaney apart from rock is his ability to get scores when his team are under the cosh. Dublin played one half of football where they were wiped for possession and rock was nowhere.mannion much better i.m.o.

Replying To Killarney.87:  "What do you expect, TOTY was picked by a bunch of cranky auld fellas on RTE.

Rock wouldn't swap his Celtic Cross to be on 10 teams of the team."
Which celtic cross ?

His 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th ?

The whole thing is rubbish, is any one really bothered.

Same goes for player of the year etc it's cringe worthy.

Sean Powter didn't make it either. That is the real injustice. He made his debut this year at 19. Played under a clueless with a bunch of players, many of whom have just stopped trying. Yet, he was outstanding in his two championship games, against two division 1 teams - Mayo and Kerry. It is grand to be playing well when your team is flying it and preparations go well but it takes a special character to stand up when you are team is dross. It took a herculean effort from the greatest team of all time to beat Mayo on Sunday. A useless Cork driven on by Powter almost managed it. Team of the year me a***. Team of the last three weeks.

Agreed Jamie Clarke of Armagh and Sean Murphy from Carlow would be in my Toty, it's utterly boring and obvious picking it from the semis onwards.

The whole thing is ridiculous.
