Is Dublin's 3 in a row Tarnished?

This is a ridiculous thread. In years to come people will look back on the tussles between these two teams as classics of this decade. They stand far above the drab finals of 2014-15. How can Dublin's reputation be tarnished by winning them? And Mayo's is certainly not, even though they lost them

Hard luck to mayo. Mayo have been the best football team for the past 4 years. Referees win games. The worst game was when Kerry won a semi-final and the heavy built mayo supporter got on the field and had a go at the ref. Today a goal was scored and 11steps over carrying were taken. Mayo 4 in a row if given fair play.

I would say yes, probably. Those would have certainly been classified as very soft all irelands.

Why? That Cork team contested 3 all Ireland's and won 1 as well as several national leagues, they were a good team......won as much if not more than the vaunted Donegal team so nit sure I understand your point.

Show a bit of grace and class.....ye have one of the greatest , certainly the greatest of their generation teams so just celebrate that and show some class.......don't think Dublin's 3 in a row is tarnished at all and history will record them as one of the all time great teams......nothing about today's game will change that.....

Nonesense thread I agree, but there's no need to go attacking Donegal because of one stupid thread by someone who claims to be from Donegal,
most of us were supporting Mayo today, this is a great Dublin team and only for Donegal beating them in 2014 this would have been 5 in a row today, Mayo just can't find a way to win, or as someone said this week they seem to find a way to lose, sad but true.

have you? hard to find logic in this thread otherwise. you must believe your own county got a handy one in 2012 too then?

I have nothing against Donegal, I just find it ironic that someone from up there would make such a comment, given that Mayo teams have won more at national level through the grades (even allowing for our long drought at the highest level).

Having said that, that particular poster seems to have some axe to grind with us, so I wouldn't see him as being representative of your county's posters.

The 3 in a row was tarnished by those Sunday game panelists talking about splitting Dublin tonight. Terrible stuff.

It's great to have lived to see my county win 2 All Ireland senior titles. I'll take that any day over your titles that were won before you were even born.

No axe to grind Gleebo. Just that I have witnessed your supporters up close and personal these past few years and safe to say ye were and are the worst I have ever had the misfortune to witness. And I am not alone on that I can assure you. Theres a difference between fanatical and provocative and Mayo supporters fit the latter bracket.

Real classy. Is donegal's 2012 win tarnished after their terrible title defence which lead to a 17 point defeat to mayo in croker? Or when they choked in the 2014 final?

I couldn't agree more Zulu. O'Rourke with the big oul sour puss on him. Saying the celebrations Dublin celebrations were 'boring'. Amazing how the begrudgery came out in the older panel members especially.

Fair play to Ciaran Whelan. A county's greatest achievement since the 1920s and Rourke and Brolly had the cheek to bring up splitting the county. 10 years ago in 2007 when Kerry did back to backs or in 1988 when Meath did they weren't so belittled.

The achievement of this Dublin team cannot be denied or downplayed, they are an excellent outfit. However the GAA is at a crossroads where it must decide if keeping Dublin content takes precedent over the future and well being of the Association as a whole. Colm O'Rourke and Joe Brolly made that point on the Sunday Game.

Not in the least bit tarnished,
Dublin are a great team with five AI titles in seven years,
Mayo are a very good team beaten by the All Ireland winners in each of the past six years,
Mayo have played Dublin six times in the past six years,
They beat them once, drew twice and lost by a single point three times, great rivals but huge respect for each other.
Mayo are a proud football county and drew some solace from having three players with Mayo fathers on your winning Donegal panel of 2012 (Murphy, Durkan and Reilly).
I am disappointed with your thread Lifford which seems based more on your experience with Mayo fans than any reflection of their football team.
It doesnt reflect the genuine, friendly fair minded Donegal fan and I am sure many of them would disagree with you.
