What a man. But glad to see the Sunday game panel agree with McCarthy. He's the best half back in the country for years and then makes the graduation to midfield and destroys all in front of him. What an animal!

Tremendous goalkeeper and superb sportsman. Heart and guts of a very good Dublin side.

Let's ignore the fact that he was poor yesterday and that shot was straight at him and give him an all star anyway.

Why should this year be any different eh?

Tut tut..great to see begrudgery is a thing if the past on GAA Ireland. It's a sin to acknowledge our greatest players, particularly if they are dubs. Btw, he was not poor, Mayo done very well in combating Dublins outfield movement SC put the ball where players called for it

So when the outfield Dublin players win possession Cluxton is the best ever but when they don't he's completely blameless?? You can't have it both ways!

Out of the 6 Dublin kickouts that Mayo won in the first half, only 1 of them was a poor kick from Cluxton, the rest were down to how Mayo owned midfield in the first half. Cluxton showed immense character when he switched it up. I'm guessing you've forgotten the two 65 yard kickouts he nailed in the first half. You can make the 'straight at him' vs 'great save' argument for a number of other goal keepers, this is no different. For me it was a good stop.
Overall Cluxton has conceded 2 goals for the whole championship, regardless of the Dublin defence that is a terrific return for a man of his age let alone his accuracy in kickouts.
Cluxton fully deserves an All Star and should get nominated for player of the year along with Andy Moran and James McCarthy

In fairness I wouldn't call him poor either but lets not pretend it was a brilliant performance. He kept doing it when it wasn't working and had to be told to stop. He had an average game (by his standards). It will obviously be between him and Clarke for the all star but I would get it hard to pick. They both had great years.

Didn't say he was blameless, I said that he couldn't be considered poor yesterday. A great keeper and if you, in all rationality, cant acknowledge that then it can only be begrudgery.

What a begrudger. That was a fantastic reflex stop from point blank range. You clearly haven't a clue what you're talking about.

lets be honest here, analyse the performances of cluxton and what is remarkable about his performances? He isnt accurate with long kickouts, they were particularly poor yesterday. Short kickouts are nothing to do with the goalkeeper, they all depend on the movement of the outfield players. Any intercounty goalkeeper can chip a kickout sideways for a corner back to run to. Nothing remarkable about that at all. In terms of shot stopping, i have yet to see evidence of him having a higher save percentage than other top inter-county goalkeepers, yesterday the save he made was routine enough that i would expect any inter-county goalkeeper to stop. In terms of aerial ability i dont think he is top class at all, and it is something which dublin's opponents don't take advantage of enough. So lets look at reality here instead of pandering to media hype. He is an excellent goalkeeper, but not definitely the best of all time and certainly not the best goalkeeper this season.
