David Clifford

Keep this kid at home. Must be 150 full time staff in Croke Park. Most county boards now employ full time people, coaching etc. Provincial councils likewise have their main offices crowded with full time secretaries etc. Time for the GAA to allow some kind of remuneration for the players. It is so important that David Clifford remains at home. Not just for Kerry but for the GAA itself.

Couldn't agree more.

The gaa can't afford to lose him to that straight line running code that lacks so many of our games skills and subtleties.

The media and supporters needs to leave him alone and make his own choices. The last thing he needs is the pressure that Joe Canning has been under to deliver since minor.

Superb player, but calm down folks - this is minor football. You can dominate minors, but you won't lord it like that at senior level.

He scored 2:06 in his first senior game for fossa esmac but yeah you're right it's a big step up and he should be allowed to develop in to what ever player he can.

Hard luck to Derry, its tough on your first big game in crokepark and the experience our boys had over the last few year helped big time.

Great! Brilliant for the game. I'd be fiercely disappointed if ye let TK off with him.

I think the last man to score 4-4 in a minor final was Seanie O'Brien of Kilkenny son of the great Seanie O'Brien ,

Read a stat yesterday that was almost beyond belief. Clifford has played in 12 minor championship matches across 2016 and 2017. He has scored 10-68 of which 10-50 was from play. Simply phenomenal scoring no matter what the age group or standard. He has similar physical attributes to Donaghy but also the subtlety and poise of Cooper. Here's hoping he's well looked after and we can look forward to him gracing many a championship for years to come.

Get that man on a plane to Oz straight away! I'll pay him his fare too!

Seriously though, a super prospect and the best minor I've ever seen.

Hopefully he is able to transition to senior football if he decides to stay in Ireland. It'll be interesting to see do Kerry throw him straight into the fray next year or will they give him a year with the U20s.

Sometimes young players are over-rated and too much hype - it was a privilage to see him in action yesterday and as a Kerry poster said he should be a contender for YPY, really he is U-18 player of the year

Unreal talent. I believe this Derry team were in fact capable enough but for Clifford's massive influence and contribution.
Hope he stays here and realises his potential at senior level. Maybe the man to stop the Dubs???

That tweet by the AFL last night was weird, that has never happened before.

Some performence by the young man yesterday.
